A tunnel I have driven numberless times; this one is in Hokkaido on the way to Rausu in Shiretoko National Park. I did an exhibit on tunnels and the Zoom Lens Effect in Tokyo a few years ago; the reaction was warm and friendly. Namaste, Blain (hair some u) Harasymiw.

Cool. If by chance you are time travelling, let us know. You look like you are in a hurry to anywhere and yet I am sure you want to stop somewhere. LuLa is as good a place any.

I think I know your secret, John.
You just press the "auto-find-good-image" button on your custom camera and it wanders around your neighborhood snapping only the best stuff, returning when its film chip needs to be replaced. Of course, you have optional buttons you can also set before it goes out: Color or BW, ... , and dials to specify camera wiggle (degree and direction), etc.

Eric, my biggest influence by far was Freeman Patterson, a Canadian photographer and teacher. You are probably familiar with him as he traveled to the US often to teach and give seminars. Epecially in the New England states. He is now in his eighties, still teaching and leading workshops in New Brunswick. He published a book back in the eighties called, "Photography and the art of seeing." That was a big influence on me. There was nothing like it back then, as it was about aesthetics and learning to see and photograph as a way to express oneself and not simply take post cardy pictures. This pandemic has constrained the way we work, travel and play. I think what I have learned from FP and fine artists, coupled with these constraints have helped me see images I otherwise would have walked by. Look at the fine work Keith has produced. On it goes, I hope.

It was very cold and windy, so I cut my walk short. What to do now? I reviewed my images and said that won't do. So I got out the crayons that my kids discarded - and this is the result!

Eric, you should have saved your hockey sticks and used them to draw straight lines. On my daily walk series I used Lego water colours and pastels, ha, ha.

Really interesting, John. And the two work well together, with the lines from the top image seeming to continue into the bottom one. Did you do that intentionally?
