These are great, too.
The thumbnail of "Midnight River" looked solid black to me, but enlarged it suggests a single lightning stroke on a dark night.

I was thinking the same thing. The last two images are really nice work RBFritz. I believe I have seen that Saguaro sunrise image somewhere before.

Just another interplanetary mission I was on...you know...nothing special, more like RBFritz or Eric.

Here's an old one I ran across recently, and that I like.

Yes indeed; very unusual. I particulary admire this landscape that is not! Brilliant mind game.
Rob, I agree with your assessment. A fine landscape that is not!

Not quite abstract, but not too revealing either:

Good grab, and quite sufficiently abstract for me.

Thanks, Eric.

I'm looking forward to more rainy days; I feel far more enthusiastic about photography when I think there could be a chance of getting reflections where usually all is flat and dull.

That's one of the thoughts that attracts me to returning to Scotland. I saw a shot last night during a BBC music show that was of the entrance to a theatre in Glasgow, and it was made on a bright day. I couldn't help thinking about the drama of it had the deep steps been glistening, the metal railings too. Also, not in any small way thanks to the late Peter Lindbergh, I love the idea of pix of a model out in the rain... whilst I, of course, am safely dry shooting from a doorway. As there would be no assistants, umbrellas are(let's not jump the gun here), would be out.

And one more.

Nice series. Very associative.

These could be in a book.

I said to one club member, what do you mean they are just steps and a porch...look at the lines, light and shadows. It is sometimes difficult to convey what you see to others. The second outing went much better.

I take that to mean that, the second time, you went on your own, unencumbered by zombies?

It's the only way I would do it if I wanted to enjoy it, or even suffer the sweet pangs of another uneventful day...

On the other hand, Rob, after seeing the results, they saw what I was doing and how the light helped to transform mundane subjects. Then they went out with a better understanding of how to look for "interesting" subjects.
