That lens might be perfect for some of your move-the-camera-during-exposure shots.
This shot resembles the ridges at Zabriskie Point in Death Valley. Where was it, out of curiosity?
That is is very small area of denuded farmland just north of Toronto, called the 'Badlands of Cheltenham.' A lot of professionals do fashion work there, and it is often used as a backdrop for movies and ads, because it has martian-looking landscape. Because I isolate the small ridges and always try to leave out the hand of man, they come out looking like like real badlands. In the winter, you can create beautiful snowscapes that look for all the world, like real sand dunes.
