Lovely shot and I do like the curves of the torso and breast but somehow the hand looks out of place, it doesn't seem to belong, dark, menacing and intrusive against the purity of the body. A forewarning of the ravages of age? Especially as it seems to beckon.

Fantastic. Without the hand it's pretty. With the hand it's really human.

Thank you both for your comments. The hand is certainly intended to be the disruptive element in this photo, and I can see its function is open to interpretation. I'll just add that I try to eschew 'meaning' in my photos. ;)

That sounds faintly patronising, though I'm sure it really isn't.

Hi mates !
My first "fashion" photography, please be kind  ;D

H3DII-39 - 100mm at f2.2 - 50 Iso
made with the available light

Great shot. I keep coming back and looking at this image. I love it! Perfect light, perfect style perfect location.  Do you mind me asking what you lit this with?
if i read the description properly he used an 'available light'. i have searched calumet/B&H for one of those but no luck  :'(
hehehe thanks Nick ! Mr Smith is right, it's not in the B&H catalog but it's cheaper than opening their website  ;D ;D
As I "only" was the light assistant for this shooting I had no transmitter for my Hasselblad to pop the flashes (the main photographer was my buddy Gilles Alonso -you can see his series with flash light on his website www.gillesalonso.com - ), so, while he was doing the coffee between two looks, I popped out my H3D out of my bag and made 2 photos only, including this one  :D I'm very lucky to had this light at this moment.

If you are using Firefox you can right-click and see it bigger!

I like how "so much is wrong" with this picture, yet it is so damn good!

I like how you threw out the composition rule of thirds (along with all the others)..... yet the composition is
so descriptive and evocative.

The lighting.... the shadow on the right side of the body hides the line of her waist thickening her body..... however
her form is still beautiful and the way the light goes into dark both in the foreground and background adds all sorts of things.

I don't find the hand to be disruptive... to the contrary... it ads an uncanny emotion.
I like the way the light is very caressing and soft on the body yet harsher and detailed on the hand.

What I like most about the image is a certain "untidiness" that makes it both more photographic than painterly, but also gives it a candid
glance feel...... Reminds me of a glance at the body of one's female partner as one wakes up...

It's interesting that you did this quite deliberately ;) and it looks in a certain sense like you accidentely fired your camera off
as you woke up with your lady on the other side of the bed. Love it.

@ TMARK

Now that is the most efficient use of words I've seen in a long time.

Eric, this is a great image.

It recalled in memory this one I made back in 2000

I want to share a picture by Contax 645 35 mm lens and Phase One P65+ back which shows the excellent high light and underexposure recovery capability of the Dalsa 60 MP sensor. That's miles ahead of my 5D2 files which blow out the lights much earlier and show more noise in the underexposed areas.
First file from raw, no PS, to show the dynamic range of the pic in full sunlight.
Second file I created in ACR a kind of HDR looking pic form the single raw.
Third a 100% crop from "HDR" file.
Btw: 1/15 second handheld no problem with the heavy cam and 35mm lens:-)

Beautiful lady, well captured.

And I'm not just saying that because you captured the coveted '200th reply' spot...  ;)
