Hey there everyone, I'm a new user, long time lurker. I recently acquired a NEC LCD2690WUQi2 to go with my Mac Pro running 10.6.4. Whenever I run Spectraview II I end up with an EXTREME magenta cast. During the beginning stages of the calibration, while "measuring primaries", the screen looks fine but once the software starts "Adjusting White Point" it all suddenly shifts magenta in a big big way. BTW the white point is (0.312,0.330) according to Spectraview. When rebooting the monitor the NEC startup screen is perfectly neutral but once the profile loads color is way off.
Another piece of the story is that the same thing was happening on my old Laptop with EyeOne Match. The only way I could get a non-magenta profile was by selecting "Native White Point". The fact that EyeOne Match can create a good profile with "Native White Point" suggests that the hardware is not damaged but that software is causing the problem.
What could be causing this effect? I'm starting to suspect the i1 Display2 may be faulty. Or, some older version of EyeOne Match might be interfering somehow. Any clues.
Attached is a look at the 2690 on the left and a neutral monitor on the right.
Thanks,
Sean
