Most of us wait to update Mac OS's until at least the 0.3 version. Let others be the guinea pigs.
I've been using Mac's since 1984, yes 1984 and it's been a rare update that made my life better.
I do the security updates though I've not had virus issues.
No Canon specific knowledge as I'm an Epson printer person but all printers are challenging on a good day.

I’ve been considering getting back into printing again, after a long period of inactivity that came about because of two principle factors: my HP B9180 Pro died at around the same time that HP abandoned it (some irony I think, as I have been led to believe it was developed in Barcelona, and I live in Mallorca, a night’s ferry or short flight away). The second factor is the reality of boxes of expensive German paper living in a cupboard, some of it unused but the majority of it in the form of prints that seldom see the light of day. Whenever they do, I congratulate myself on something that looks good, pleases me, but is ultimately a futile exercise in wishful thinking. I’m afraid that bird flew away a couple of decades before I thought I might see where it could take me, and when I belatedly chased after it, it led to pretty much nothing.
Forgotten, for a while, the frustration of seeing truly crappy photographs scooped up by big galleries, promoted as something Earth shattering, and revered, mainly, by non-photographers. And yeah, the never-ending expense of replacing inks, once described as being, fluid ounces per fluid ounce, more expensive than Chanel’s No 5.
I think I’ll slip my current interest in printing again into the drawer marked Crazy, and just make do with the iPad as my viewing medium. Thanks for reminding me of the inevitable hassles that had slipped into my “forgot all that” zone!
