Yes it's strange. Printer status is shown an idle which means a driver problem. Canon support provided the URL to download the necessary software. When I run the exe the program runs and then says unable to install. The Canon website provides a setup package labeled Windows 11. I don't have any software installed that should prevent installing new programs. Pretty plain setup MCFEE virus installed. I've disabled fire wall to see if that was a problem. No change. So tuned i t back on.
Tried all Canon suggestions remove printer and reinstall. Turn off and unplug everything, etc.
Thanks for asking.

In your initial post, you said that the driver, print layout and driver software won’t load on your system but in your very next post, you stated that the printer is idle, indicating that this is a driver problem. So, I’m confused, if you were unable to install (is that what you mean by ‘load’, actually installing the driver, etc? Or you’ve installed them but now cannot load the program when you click their icon?) the drivers, how can you say that the problem is a driver issue? Presumably, from what you’ve said, you don’t actually have the driver installed. Moreover, how are you getting any info about the state of the printer, whether idle or something else? To do so, you’d need to have the driver installed, otherwise how are the printer and pc communicating, with no driver installed?
If you can please clarify exactly what you mean and how you’ve gone about determining that the driver is at fault, when, to my understanding, you don’t have the driver installed? Also, where are you seeing the printer reporting to be idle, in what software or what part of windows?
Just trying to help you get this sorted but first, it’s important to know the exact situation you’re in and whether the problem is installing the software in the first place or you’ve installed it but can’t get it to load/start when you click the icon?
