Does the recent ACR render more noise than the old CS6 era version?

Hi,
 A couple weeks ago, due to a computer dying, I made an abrupt shift from Photoshop CS6 and that era's Adobe Camera RAW to the latest updates of Photoshop CC and Adobe Camera RAW.

 In both scenarios, I avoided sharpening as well noise reduction by setting parameters to "0".

 I have only worked in depth with a few images since installing the new software. It's hard for me to be sure, but it seems as if the RAW conversions with the new software are nosier than I am accustomed to.

 I manually expose with the ETTR workflow, almost always at ASA 100 so I usually overexpose in the camera, pull the exposure down 1 to 1-/2 stops and lift the shadows.

 In the past this has seemed to work well.

 Now I feel like the images seem a bit noiser than I am used to.

 Or... I could just be crazy.

 Any thoughts?

Are you using the identical (much older) Process Version in the new version as the older one?

Hi,
 With my CS6 install I had the 9+ version of Adobe Camera RAW that was updated up to the point that Adobe stopped updating that install. I believe the process was called "2012" which I think is also referred to as "version 3".

 With the Photoshop CC install I am just becoming familiar with, I am using Adobe Camera RAW 17.0 and process version 6.

 I have the impression that the processing results in a little more noise with the new software. I could be crazy.

In the Calibration tab you can switch between Versions.  ie you can process an image using the current Version 6, then on a copy process it with Version 3 and directly compare them.  For the comparison you only have to be careful about any adjustments you make using tools in V6 that are not available in V3

 I compared the results of trying the two process versions on one RAW file and could not see any difference in noise.
