Hi Rob, have you got contents insurance that would cover the phones away from the house?

That's a good question to which I don't have a definitive answer!

I thought that I did when my Rolex was pinched, but as I have mentioned before, the insurance company simply refused to reply to any of my letters, and the local agent got no further with them than getting me a claims form. I sometimes wonder whether he didn't want to get any further... I am no longer with that company, the new one being offered by the bank. I have to go there this week, and will ask. The telephone company offers a policy, but it's quite expensive and hardly seems worth it.

P.S.

I've just looked at the current policy, and it clearly says that there is no cover for anything outwith the home. ;-(

Insider information.

Puts me in mind of a boat yard near Corfu Town we used to visit when I was shooting my 'Found Paintings' series. As well as a lot of boats there were also a lot of single women, each sitting on a chair underneath individual boats equipped with ladders. Turns out it was a boat yard and knocking shop combined!

That’s a perfectly logical combination. Clearly, the girls and their ladders worked as a team: if the punter couldn’t hack the ladder, then far too dangerous for any physical exertions!

I got to Corfu for a weekend that was supposed to be two weeks. The model got ill almost on arrival, and we had to return to London and then I had to get to Glasgow. The client was less than thrilled - but we got a new girl and went to Mallorca instead. I felt obliged to go 6x6 instead of Kodachrome just because Ektachrome could be processed locally and save time.

Did you like Corfu? In the brief time I was there I felt kinda relieved that things had gone as they had; the bits I actually saw hadn’t filled me with great confidence over my decision to go there in the first place. The Internet, had it existed in those days, would have been very helpful regarding location spotting. That said, take away the need for sandy beaches, and I think a pretty nice holiday could be spent there.

The Northeast of Corfu was known as Kensington-on-Sea, incredibly monied, birds and yachts galore. More account execs and art directors than you could shake a stick at. Hence it was also my agent's hangout. Nuff said.

Corfu is an incredibly beautiful island with many picturesque villages and hamlets, but sadly much of the coastline is pure bucket-and-spade.

These are the weapons of the people who make driving a car down our usual country roads a nightmare, especially on those stretches with sunlight flickering through the trees like a series of malicious strobes.

I won't go into the reasons why these people become suicide jockeys, because I simply can't understand the mindset.

To think a makeup artist spent so much time perfecting skin!

As I always say, there's nothing somebody else can't eff up for you.

Which would remind me of Patrick Lichfield in Australia. I think it was a whisky gig, but my memory fades the more my hair falls out, which on consideration, is not a pretty thought, and lousy coincidence. ;-)

interesting viewpoint

I often think along these themes; perhaps it has some connection with horrible years spent in a boarding school which, in revenge against the religious powers there, had me, once I was free, become a photographer of women. Had they known this was on the cards, I may have become tiger feed. Their inability to read the future = my good luck!
