I am having trouble with achieving accurate color prints after switching over to my Mac Pro from my iMac.  If I use either the manufactures profiles or my custom profiles on the iMac my prints turn out nice with good color fidelity.  If I use either the manufactures profiles or my custom profiles on the Mac Pro the color is not at all accurate.  I suspect the problem is with the macOS Ventura operating system???

Below are the specs
Mac Pro 2019
Processor 3.5 GHz 8-Core Intel Xeon W
Graphics AMD Radeon Pro 580X 8 GB 32 GB 2666 MHz DDR4
Serial Number F5KC1068K7GF
PCI. Card Slots 8 PCI Card Slots
macOS Ventura 13.1 (22C65)
Monitor is BenQ SW271

IMAC
iMac 27-inch, Mid 2010
Processor 2.8 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics ATI Radeon HD 5750 1024 MB
Serial Number QP0310X9DB5
macOS Sierra version 10.12.6

The printer I use for all my prints is the Epson P9000

I am using a network that has an 8 disk Synology set up to store my files

I have used the X-Rite i1Pro 3  (serial # 2 001 299)
to calibrate both monitors and develop profiles for each one of them
to develop  custom profiles for many different papers and canvases I use
to develop custom profiles for my camera bodies and lenses

I also have downloaded and use the profiles provided by Epson as well as other manufacturers

I also have set both monitors to sRGB for comparison purposes and they look virtually identical

I use Adobe Lightroom Classic to print out on my Mac Pro.  I use Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 to print out on my iMac.  (I previously used Lighroom on my iMac and achieved the same good results that I now get from Photoshop.)  I am careful to use the correct media type on the printer and driver, use the correct profile, and select the “correct” rendering intent for comparison purposes.

I had read there were problems with the Ventura OS?  Could that be the issue?  If so why can I do to correct it?

I have been printing with Ventura on a new Mac Mini M1 with no issues what so ever and the prints match perfectly to the ones from my old Mac Pro (2010-2012) running Mojave. However I always print from Photoshop, including CS PS 6, PS 2021, and PS 2023 on Ventura/Mac Mini. They all produces exactly the same results. However I have a Canon Pro 4100 and use their Print & Layout plug in within PS which to me is far superior to the old style of CMD + P routine. Never cared for printing out of Lightroom but use it extensively for other task.

Cutting to the chase, I am inclined to think something in your new workflow on Ventura/Lightroom is amiss. What that might be is anyones guess though. I would encourage you to make some prints from within PS using precisely the same methods and workflow you've used on other computers. If that results in better and more consistent prints, then you know its something within the Lightroom workflow that is incorrect.

Good luck.

On my 3880 and P800, no issues with Application Manages Color with Photoshop or Lightroom.
The new print GUI is awful but works for these printers.

I had the same issues of poor print quality on my Mac Pro when I was running the Catalina OS.  I was hoping by upgrading to Ventura that those issues would disappear.   I'll try printing from PS on the Mac Pro and see if that makes any difference.

It might be an idea to reinstall the printer driver (possibly you'll need Digital Dog's ‘Epson Enema’).

Canon users, including myself, have found that after installing an update to the Mac OS it is necessary to reinstall the driver deleting the old one from the Printers and Scanners pane and selecting the freshly installed driver, being careful not to use the AirPrint driver which can cause issues.

Interesting I've never found this to be a problem, well at least yet so far. I will add though my old Mac Pro is stuck on Mojave, can't update to anything beyond that.
