Adjusting platen gap on Epson P900

In an attempt to make printing easier Epson has dumbed down the menu choices for printing. There is no obvious way to adjust the platen gap. You are stuck with what the printer software decides is best for the paper you have chosen. I am trying to print on a matte paper that has a removable adhesive back and I am getting vertical streaks. I have tried choosing many different "Epson" paper types, but still am having this problem. Does anyone know a work around? I want to print on matte and widen the platen gap. I am using a Mac with the latest Big Sur OS and printing via Lightroom, also the latest version.

I found the answer: using the Epson Media installer. It's not intuitive at all...I had to google it and find how to videos.

I have the 7570 which also uses Epson Media Installer (EMI).  At first I thought, “What IS THIS!” - and was really angry that most of the critical parameters were now missing in the driver.  But not so fast.   EMI is very clever.  Your paper type, including its “actual name you give it” the caliper, platen gap, ICC profile, drying time per pass, etc., are all “in the printer” registered, once your created a new media type from the “base Epson media” the paper mfg. recommends.  Once and done.  Once you “get it” going back to the “re setting all the parameters in the driver” will become archaic.
