The free market and capitialism working perfectly.

You make your choices and you then live with the outcome. No one held a gun their head and forced them to make this choice.

So "live with the outcome" includes begging for cash from the feds to compensate them for the results of their decisions?

What misdirection.

Not understanding how misdirection works? Here's an example in the context of your reply above...

You: You make numerous assertions that Cuomo is responsible for the deaths of thousands of people due to a directive that nursing homes accept residents back into their facility when discharged from the hospital if they are able to do so. The number you site ranges from 15,000; to 13,000; to 9,000; to 4,000; to we may never know—at one point asking "If you don't think Cuomo killed 4000, how many do you think he did kill?".

Me: I write a direct response to the specific allegation you make. In that context, my first paragraph asks several questions regarding your assertion, all of which you ignore in your reply. In the second paragraph, within that context, I state that we're fortunate not to have had to weigh the choices that Cuomo did between two risks—one, keeping patients no longer needing hospital care in hospitals already overwhelmed or the other of returning patients that had been treated in the hospital to the nursing home from which they were transferred.

You: You reply by focusing just on the second paragraph saying only "I coun't [couldn't] have described a better defence of what Trump did than that." [Misdirection #1] You redirect attention away from my questions and statement regarding your assertions about Cuomo to focus attention somewhere else—namely defending Trump, which had NOTHING to do with your assertions about Cuomo killing people OR my reply to them. A blatant misdirection away from a direct response to your assertions which you apparently wished to avoid.

Me: I reply—"My comments were in the context of the decision made by Cuomo and the choices which he had to weigh" [trying to get you back on topic]. But play along with your first misdirection and also ask—"What decisions by Trump are you referring to defending? Is it the same defense that you will apply to decisions that Biden makes—or Cuomo?" [trying again to get you back on topic].

You: You ignore my reference to the context of the discussion [your Cuomo assertions] in my first statement [trying to get you back on topic]. You also ignore my second question asking if you would apply the same defense to Biden or Cuomo [trying again to get you back on topic]. Instead, you keep focusing on Trump. Though in fairness, you do also say "I give Cuomo the benefit of the doubt for his directive"—even though you haven't in the numerous accusations you've made blaming him for thousands of deaths due to his directive.

And on it goes with more discussion of Trump and economic fallout from Covid and Trump minimizing the seriousness of Covid, until you then bring other actions by governors into the discussion—misdirection from Trump's minimizing the seriousness of Covid in the early stages of the pandemic. [Misdirection#2]

You: "Governors know how deadly the virus is also.  Yet they open their states trying to get their economies back as well." Still not talking about Cuomo and his directive or my reply to your assertions of him killing people. Now adding misdirection away from statements that Trump made.

Me: Finally, I've had enough and call out your "Blatant misdirection" which has continued throughout the discussion.

You: "What misdirection. [?]"

So, after a lengthy series of posts and replies to my direct and specific response to your assertions regarding Cuomo killing people—never once do you ever address my questions or statements about your assertions which was the sole purpose of my post. Your responses never go there—they are directed somewhere else. The possible exception being a statement by you midway thru the mess of misdirection when you say: "I give Cuomo the benefit of the doubt for his directive"—even though that's the polar opposite of your earlier assertions that I attempted to discuss with you.

Do you see how that works? I think that you know exactly how it works.

As someone else put it much more succinctly than I just have, in a polite request...

If you are not going to address the questions in my posts, please do not quote them and pretend that you are.

My sentiments exactly.

This is just too funny and absurd.

Serving Trump A Diet Coke Required Elaborate Steps, Says Leaked Restaurant Document
A report on the inner workings of BLT Prime, the steakhouse inside the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C., has revealed the extensive serving procedure for former president Donald Trump’s Diet Cokes — as well as several other demanding tendencies of Trump’s inner circle.
According to the document, servers had to follow a series of steps every time Trump ordered a Diet Coke. These included presenting him with a bottle of hand sanitizer, asking Trump if he wanted the soda with or without ice, providing glasses and chilled bottles in advance of his reply, holding both the bottle opener and the Diet Coke by their lower thirds while presenting them, opening the bottle in front of Trump — “never beforehand” — and gingerly placing the beverage on Trump’s right-hand side.

Trump’s dining procedure was similarly complex, even though the president always ate the same dishes: a shrimp cocktail, a well-done steak, fries, and occasionally apple pie or chocolate cake. Popovers accompanying the steak had to be served within two minutes, and servers had to open multiple bottles of Heinz ketchup in front of the then-president, making sure he could hear each bottle make a “pop.”

“Trump himself never returned a plate, but if he was disappointed, you can bet the complaint would travel down the ranks,” the Washingtonian story said. “Like the time the President questioned why his dining companion had a bigger steak.”

Good thing Trump and his dining companion didn't end up next to each other in the men's room urinal  ;D

His post is nonsense as it has zero to do with any of my facts or opinions and was just a personal attack...

I don't have to listen.  And I won't.

Boo-hoo-hoo-sniff — "You are such an easy mark." It requires little more than quoting your own insults to other people for you to feel attacked.

Shocking admissions, more to come hopefully:

Quote
Former Trump deputy national security adviser Matt Pottinger says that it was a "grave misstep" for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to wait until April 2020 to advise the American public to begin wearing masks as a means to protect against the deadly coronavirus pandemic. In an excerpt of an interview set to air on "Face the Nation" this Sunday, Pottinger told moderator Margaret Brennan that the "mask misstep cost us dearly."
"It was the one tool that was widely available, at least homemade, you know, cotton masks were widely available," Pottinger said. "It was the one effective, widely available tool that we had in the arsenal to deal with this...It was a grave misstep."

It's not free markets.  It's the government... Whenever I send money to the government, I get squat.

As long as you don't count: public streets, roads, highways, and interstates, and their maintenance and improvements—for you to drive on; bridges that get you across bodies of water; traffic control and streetlights for your safety; police and fire departments for protection of you and your property; a gigantic military and state national guards for defense of you and your country; a system of representative democracy in which you have a say by your vote; a court system to settle disputes and try criminals; public parks for your enjoyment and recreation; public education to keep young hooligans off your lawn; public libraries to educate yourself; public health departments and environmental agencies that try to protect your health and keep the water and air safe for you to drink and breathe; public water and sewer systems for the obvious reasons; federal, state, and local agencies to aid in disaster relief when it occurs; public transportation for traveling when you are unable or don't wish to drive and in some places, public parking for when you do; and several other things that could actually add up to squat. However you define that.

Oh, I get it.  Some people just get more of "their money returned to them" than others, depending.

No, you don’t get it.   The Feds made a deal.  Now they get to honor it.  Choices made, dealing with the outcome.

Ted Cruz is digging himself into a deeper hole. He has posted images of himself on Twitter loading water bottles into the trunks of people's cars who have been adversely affected by the cold weather and power grid failure down in Texas. Sharp-eyed Twitter followers have noted that, having been down in Cancun, he should be in a 7-10 day quarantine per CDC guidelines, so maybe he is handing out COVID as well as water. Not really a good look; but when has being Ted Cruz ever been a good look? Meanwhile, AOC is up to $4 million raised for Texas relief.

Yeah, but AOC is only doing it for the publicity. Cruz is handing out water because he cares, it was a coincidence that cameras were there to catch it.

(Wouldn't it be hilarious if it was part of AOC's $4 million that paid for that water? If I were writing the script for the Hollywood satire, that's how I would write it.)

Meanwhile, those poor folk in Texas are suffering because they weren't smart enough to plan for the failure of their infrastructure. The fools probably expected their public authorities to have disaster plans in place. Imagine. Reminds me a bit of Katrina. I guess they never conducted a proper debriefing on that one, you know, to make sure that never happened again. At least this time there were no armed police preventing people from travelling to safer counties, so that was good.

The proposed 1.9 trillion adds another 6000 dollars in debt for each man woman and child in America. That means my wife and I owe another 12 grand.  That doesn't even include the inflation factor because the money has to be printed.   It's another devaluation of the dollar. Thanks but no thanks for that kind of government spending.

It might help you to feel less victimised if you stop thinking about the national economy as being like your household economy.  It's not.  As for debts - how much did Trumps 1.5 trillion tax cut increase inflation?

Trump's just as bad.  He believes in debt as a real estate developer.  In any case, it's not reducing taxes that causes inflation.  It's when you print currency to make up for the shortfall in taxes required to pay for government budget expenses. Everyone loves tax reductions.  We just don't want them to cut spending because we'll lose out on free stuff, that really isn't free anyway, in the end.
