Krakette Sidney Powell is now suggesting that the voting machines are rigged in favor of the Republicans in the Georgia run-off election and is encouraging all Republicans to turn out and vote. Last week she was encouraging Republicans to boycott the election, so basically an about-face. I guess she has her bases covered so no matter who wins the election was rigged.

Sidney Powell Thinks Georgia Senate Runoff May Be 'Rigged' to Favor GOP

https://www.newsweek.com/sidney-powell-thinks-georgia-senate-runoff-may-rigged-favor-gop-1557898

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is not due back until January 8th, two days after Congress counts the votes so the court may just decide that her Kraken lawsuits are moot. She originally misfiled two of the four. I don't know if she has fixed that yet or not.

And that suit she has going in Texas to let VP Pence pick the winner is just sitting there. Next step is for the judge to set a briefing schedule. He's hoping the briefs will be brief.

I am not sure what her long term objectives are. She is 65, so maybe she will retire. I guess that depends on how much money she has scammed off  Trump supporters.

Anybody remember Rudy "Hand Down His Pants" Giuliani? He's got a new lawsuit cooking in Wisconsin. Seems the Trump campaign still has a few dollars left in its coffers that he is trying to get his hands on. It looks like it is just going to be a recycle of the same claims the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and every other court in the country, has rejected before. But when the mimeograph machine is all inked up, you can still keep turning the crank.

Giuliani reveals Trump campaign is filing new Supreme Court bid to try to overturn election result

What about old Kayleigh "Affidavits by the Pound" McEnany. She apparently hasn't given up the ghost and was back lying on Fox News last night. Some guy who looked like a bouncer was filling in for Sean "The Manatee" Hannity. Old Kayleigh didn't have any new material. She was peddling the same lies that were debunked three weeks ago by the National Review, which is a conservative publication. You know you are in trouble when your own side is outing you for lying. I don't know how she lives with herself wearing that cross around her neck and tweeting out passages from the bible between lies.

Kayleigh McEnany Proves Jake Tapper Right, Effortlessly Lies on Fox

https://www.thedailybeast.com/kayleigh-mcenany-proves-jake-tapper-right-effortlessly-lies-on-fox

And then there is Poor Michael Flynn. Last we heard of him he was in the Oval Office with the Krakettes pitching declaring martial law and re-running the election to Trump. It appears to have been a failed attempt. The only thing for him to do now is to sell QAon t-shirts and coffee mugs. Everyone say along with me: Poor Michael Flynn. Not a dry eye in the house.

Michael Flynn Is Now Selling QAnon Merch

Apparently Operation Warp Speed is limping along on impulse power and even Scotty is thinking she's gonna blow. It seems at the current rate it is going to take a decade to get everyone vaccinated.

At current rate, it'll be 10 years before Americans are adequately vaccinated against Covid

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/at-current-rate-itll-be-10-years-before-americans-are-adequately-vaccinated-against-covid/ar-BB1cklmN?ocid=uxbndlbing

QAnon merchandizing?  Flynn used to have an important job in government, didn't he? How did he get past the HR interviews?

So you guys may have read about this bomber who blew up himself and an RV full of explosives down on 2nd Avenue in my hometown on Christmas Day. He took out part of the AT&T building which knocked out cable TV and internet service all over the place. The two leading theories for motive are 5G paranoia and alien lizard people. It is the first I’ve heard of alien lizard people. I really miss going to the grocery store and reading the National Enquirer while waiting to get checked out. Still, anything’s possible. No one has proved there aren’t any alien lizard people, so it is an open issue.

Do you think there are enough of those alien lizard people to have skewed the outcome of the election? And we were worried about Russians, boy did we get that wrong.

Is the use of "alien" in "alien lizard people" redundant? A "lizard person" is going to be "alien" pretty much by definition.

Definitely in Georgia. Not in Wisconsin, that state is too cold for lizards.

QAnon merchandizing?  Flynn used to have an important job in government, didn't he? How did he get past the HR interviews?

He was the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency under Obama, until Obama fired him. Didn’t play well with others or something. So he got into doing stuff for Turkey without registering as a foreign agent, including plotting to kidnap this Turkish religious leader living in exile in Pennsylvania that old Erdogan had a beef with. Then he joined the Trump campaign. When Trump won, Obama had Trump up to the White House for the ceremonial handshake, and tried to warn Trump off of hiring the guy. Of course Trump is a genius at picking only the best people to surround himself with, and so picks Flynn as head of the National Security Council at the White House. So before he gets in he calls up the Russian ambassador and tells him not to retaliate for Obama’s sanctions for interfering in the 2016 election because Trump will cut him a better deal. The FBI then stops by for a friendly chat and he lies to them about it. Then he lies to VP Pence about it so Trump fires him. But Trump has a soft spot for the guy and asks Comey to go easy on him, and well you know the rest. Thank God he lied to the FBI. Otherwise, a QAnon conspiracy theorist would be heading the NSC.

I have no idea why people believe in conspiracy theories, or get involved in cults, or support Trump. It’s a mystery to me. Maybe their parents never bought them one of those big boxes of crayons with 64 colors and a built-in sharpener or something.

I don’t know any reason you couldn’t have native lizard people.

That's also bad news for Canadian snow birds. No point trying to get better by going south just to get infected. Besides, the US/Canadian border crossing by car is still not allowed and who knows when the ban will be lifted.

I'd head a bit further south and land in Havana. Cuba has a much better grasp of Covid and a better plan to deal with it.

As of about 3:30 pm on Dec 30th, Worldometer is reporting 349,087 total US deaths. The day is not over yet so there's a good chance the US will hit 350,000 by the end of day. The death total was 299,740 on Dec 10.  So there have been 50,000 deaths in the last 20 days.

Remember when people thought that 60,000 total deaths was going to be an important milestone.

(Good thing that Alan is ignoring my posts or I'd have to put up with him replying with something like "Well, what's Biden doing about it?")

Yep, many were comparing it against the yearly flu and basically scoffed at it because the flu can kill up to 60,000 people in a bad year. I haven't heard peep from the person that said "wake me up when it reached 60,000".

I knew Trump shouldn't have drained that swamp...that's where the lizard people used to hang out...now they've invaded the White House.

So far, Cuba has been much better off regarding the virus than most other countries. Officially only 11,687 cases and 145 deaths for the entire 2020 year. Compare that with almost 14,000 cases and 134 deaths in Florida just today.

However the December stats show a rapid increase, very likely due to the influx of winter tourists. It's a dilemma weighing the risk of importing covid and being dependent so much on the tourism.

Cuba is an island nation that just shuts its borders  No one notices, including Cubans.  Of course, now that they need tourists, they're in the same place as the rest of the world who go back to work because they need to eat too.  That increases the rates.  Welcome to coronavirus.

Also, I would be careful to believe their statistics.  Russia just announced their 50-60,000 dead are about 1/3 of what the real death rate is.  The Russians taught the Cubans everything they know and how to deny everything.

All valid points, Alan. But Trump said that warm weather kills the virus. Or was it just hot air?
Canadian airlines are still flying tourists on a reduced schedule to Cuba and Florida.

Put it this way. I'd have no problems going to Cuba for a couple weeks of beach time. I won't put one foot onto US soil until they remove Covid from politics and start treating it like a killer disease it is.

I put my passport away and raised the heat in the house. For now, I'm watching youtube travel reports. My next trip will be to a clear lake in northern Ontario next summer.

The corona numbers in England were at a point so low because they reached the limit of the excell spreadsheet. Took them some weeks to find out...
The English taught... ;)

Trump taught his supporters how to deny everything as well. I wonder if Trump and the Cubans had the same teacher.

You are way overthinking it. Trump is a pathological liar so it just comes natural to him. He is one-upping Truman, who came up with the idea of plausible deniability. Trump is all about implausible deniability. Obviously he has not perfected the technique because to his supporters his denials still sound plausible. I guess he needs to take it up a notch. Too bad he's run out of time.

L. Lin Wood, the other Krakette, decided he would have a psychotic breakdown just before the Georgia Senate run-off. This is what happens when you go off your meds. Everyone needs to stay on their meds. We've got less than three weeks to go.

Trumpist Lawyer Lin Wood Goes on Unhinged Rant Suggesting Justice John Roberts Is a Murderous Pedophile

https://www.thedailybeast.com/trumpist-lawyer-lin-wood-casually-suggests-chief-justice-john-roberts-is-a-murderous-pedophile

"“My information from reliable source is that Roberts arranged an illegal adoption of two young children from Wales through Jeffrey Epstein,” Wood tweeted. “I think we can all agree that Epstein knows pedophilia.”  “If only Jeffrey Epstein was still alive . . . Wouldn’t that be something?” he wrote."

After getting a good night's sleep, Wood tweeted this out while having his first cup of coffee:

"I am fully aware of the onslaught of attacks being made against me based on my revelations about Chief Justice John Roberts. Before attacking me, maybe fair-minded people would first ask Roberts to tell the truth. Or ask Jeffrey Epstein. He is alive."

I would like to remind everyone that this guy was in the Oval Office last week plotting with Trump on how to overturn the election.

I can't find the link now, but I read this article about how the Secret Service is replacing Trump's current security detail who they think may be too devoted to him and might participate with him in some shenanigans 'round about inauguration day. I am glad someone is thinking ahead.

Be grateful that at least your little dalliance with populism is (hopefully) soon in the rear view mirror. Ours is in ful flood, and like the virus it has helped spread, will likely become worse before it gets better.  Our democratic institutions have failed to protect us - the House of Lords is stuffed with non-elected friends of the Tories, the press is supine beyond belief (there is no CNN, no NYT, no Wapo to hold the powers to account) and the House of Commons is more interested in whether an MP is wearing a tie than in what he is actually saying about public health (watch the video below).
