Washington further promised that he would "continue the utmost Vigilance against this most dangerous enemy."

By the fall of 1775 Boston--which was under British occupation--suffered from a widespread smallpox epidemic that threatened to spread throughout the ranks of Washington's army. Reports even surfaced that the British deliberately sent infected people out of the city to expand the epidemic into American lines. In response, Washington forbade refugees from Boston to come near the American camp in order to avoid the risk of exposure.

Sounds like what's happening with Covid shutdown and stimulus money.  Of course, the country's going to need more than a crutch.

I saw a couple of news articles yesterday where they said they were now negotiating an individual stimulus payment of maybe $600. The cynic in me says it will cost $600 to send it to me. I wish I could check a box to say to pay it directly to the IRS. It would save both of us a stamp.

Phrases that precede an opinion and/or agenda that they hold but do not want to admit they are trying to push something with no actual citations or proof, which violates journalistic standards.
It's like a Jedi mind trick. Works very well on the weak-minded and/or those who just want confirmation of their established view.

Unemployment is decreasing in lockdown lite states like TX (from 13.5% to 6.9%) and FL (13.8% to 6.5%) at a reasonable rate.  It is remaining pretty high in lockdown heavy states like CA (16.4% to 9.3%) and NY (16% to 9.6%), and decreasing more slowly. 

Although it is true the pandemic is effecting the economy, the lockdowns are holding the economy in certain states back as well.  I would classify this as "misleading."
