No, I suppose you're right. But isn't it odd how many of his "enablers" have acquiesced to this behaviour since most of them would probably describe otherwise themselves as believers in Freedom and Free Speech (with upper case "F"s). Good thing this nonsense is ending soon and we can go back to ignoring him like most people did before he was elected.

Quite so, but I'm not saying he doesn't have the right to say what he did. I'm saying he's a twerp for having done so. It's not illegal to be a moron or to say dumb things.

I don't think that the blanket interpretation that free speech means people can say what they want is what your constitution's free speech actually means anyway. That is, what little reading I've done on the topic doesn't lead me to think things are that simple. But I don't know enough to discuss it intelligently.

There're plenty of stupid things said by democrats, republicans, the media, LuLa posters, and a lot of other groups.  America believes in equal opportunity stupidity.  The constitution doesn't allow us to shut anyone up.   It's OK for them to blather on.

Of course. He can say whatever he wants, whenever he wants, and does so. No need to be reminded of that. Oft quoted around here is the aphorism:

"‘Tis better to keep quiet and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt."

I think he more often makes an ass of himself, than a fool of himself. Of course, it comes as no surprise. His reputation as an ass precedes him.

I think you're right, and if he would use free speech intelligently rather than spout dilusional conspracy theories (like that his own security agencies are "in" on the conspiracy) he wouldnt look so much like a childish sore loser.

As discussed earlier, Alan doesn't believe the words of the most powerful man on the planet with a bully pulpit, matter and he or she (unless she's Hillary) should be able to say any stupid thing that pops into their tiny minds. As an actually great and Republican president once said: "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt." - Abraham Lincoln
Some think it's fine to speak foolishly as the US President. And some follow in suite.  :'(

A lot of people who support him feel that the Democrats used Covid to create mail-in ballot voting because they can cheat easier.  There's been a history of cheating in some Democratic districts in the past, one just a few miles from where I live in New Jersey.  19% of the votes were fraudulent there. Four people including two candidates were arrested and charged with illegal voting activities.  You also have to remember that Democrats tried to destroy Trump with false charges about Russian collusion using a phoney dossier created by Clinton.  So you'd be suspicious too.

Shocking. And he's probably also a Democrat. You think he can also spell presidential and representative correctly? That be a deep state conspiracy theory worth posting!  :D

Just wear a mask. And stay home. Simple, really.

This seems to be a pretty straight-forward, non-partisan article about a CDC study regarding masks slowing the spread....

What am I missing?

Some can't accept straight-forward, non-partisan solutions. They have to make it political. Shame.

It's not about talking about Trump.  It's about making arguments as if the election isn't over.  Most of the arguments made over the last year had to do with the election. everyone was jockeying for a political position.  Well, it's over.  He lost.  Now let's look at issues on their own.  How best to deal with them from a national and personal standpoint.  I am willing to do that.  Are you?

You haven't for the past nine months or so. I don't expect you to change now.

I have since the election.  Maybe you haven't noticed.

A lot of people who support him feel that the Democrats used Covid to create mail-in ballot voting because they can cheat easier.  There's been a history of cheating in some Democratic districts in the past, one just a few miles from where I live in New Jersey.  19% of the votes were fraudulent there. What a joke.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Right now Trump with his stupid tweets and phone calls to Fox is ripping your country apart.

Oh Alan, I've been away for two years and you haven't changed one bit. Trump is still great (in your mind) and now also rightfully suspicious.

Only thing I would ask is if you believe all the Trump (campaign) allegations of massive fraud and that Trump won by a landslide. And if your answer to that is "yes" why you think it is the vast majority of lawsuits is either thrown out or withdrawn for lack of evidence. For me the lack of traction in court is the main reason why I qualify most of these statements as "delusional"

Don't get me wrong, voter fraud shouldn't happen but there is no credible data that show the practices of mail-in ballots are really "easier cheated". I think the only thing it does is nullify to some extent the voter supression practices in drawing strange district boundaries and making polling stations hard to reach.

Maybe you can find another one of your quotes to throw in here.  They make you look so smart after all. /s
