I have looked at the CDC website and haven't seen anything where the doctors have recommended shutting everything down, so I'll just assume that is your personal opinion, not founded on any facts, which, of course you are free to hold and post.
Exactly correct. Of course as we have seen, zero evidence of ”shutting everything down”, yet another uninformed opinion. Par for the course.

Fact check: Biden did not say that if elected he will lock down the country until everyone is vaccinated against COVID-19.
https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-factcheck-biden-shutdown-vaccine/fact-check-biden-did-not-say-that-if-elected-he-will-lock-down-the-country-until-everyone-is-vaccinated-against-covid-19-idUSKBN2762TF
Biden has said that if scientists advised him to shut down the country to curb the coronavirus pandemic he would, but he does not think there will be a need for such a nationwide lockdown. He supports opening businesses and schools provided sufficient safety measures are in place.
Alan, you are free, as usual, to ignore the facts.

That has nothing to do with shutting everything down which is what the Democrats wanted to do and many still want to do.  But now that Biden will be president, they realize he can't do that or Democrats will lose in 2022 if the economy continues to fail.  So they'll change horses a midstream and moderate their approach.  So now they'll favor going back to work.  You forget how people here called Joe and Craig "immoral" for wanting to go back to work to feed their families.  They were called "heartless and uncaring" about their fellow Americans.  So now you think it's OK for them and others to work.  Very nice of you.

Absolute nonsense. All of it.

Nevada and Pennsylvania have now joined Georgia and Michigan, and certified their election results declaring Biden the victor.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/11/24/politics/state-certification-2020-election-results-joe-biden/index.html

Minnesota is meeting today to certify its election results in favor of Biden.

In Arizona, all of the counties have certified their election results, and the Secretary of State plans to certify the election in favor of Biden on November 30th.

Wisconsin has until December 1st to certify it results, which show Biden as the winner.

Frans and Randy Quaid are going to be upset about those facts.  :D

The election is over.  Why is there a problem?

Problems exist only in the states where the governors are against masks.

Quote
Red state governors reject Biden on mask orders.
The politicization of mask-wearing shows how difficult it will be for Joe Biden to build consensus around even basic public health strategies after he’s sworn in. President-elect Joe Biden says he'll personally call red state governors and persuade them to impose mask mandates to slow down the coronavirus pandemic. Their early response: Don’t waste your time.

Almost all of the 16 Republican governors who oppose statewide mask mandates are ready to reject Biden’s plea, they told POLITICO or declared in public statements — even as they impose new restrictions on businesses and limit the size of public gatherings to keep their health systems from getting swamped.

End of story.

Extremely simple: Democrats crashed the economy to win the election. It worked. Now they are doing the usual flip-flop and will pursue exactly the opposite, so that they claim how they revived the economy.

Extremely simple. Trumps economy; end of the true story. He's out, at least today, the Dow celebrates.

No, the reason you have to shut everything down is because everything is so damn out of control. IF proper procedures were followed long ago...you would not have this problem today where things need to be shut down to get some handle on the virus.

If Chetos did not put down wearing masks and did not flaunt large "ego boosting" rallies with no distancing whats so ever and very few wearing masks...maybe you would not be looking at shutting down parts of the country today.

Thank you TJ Trump:
How Trump’s conspiracy theories have inspired some supporters to boycott the Georgia runoff.
President Donald Trump’s lies about the election being stolen from him are having an unintended consequence: There are now members of his base who are advocating for Republicans not to vote in the Georgia runoff for two vital Senate seats.
On the right-wing social media platform Parler, investigative reporter Marcus Baram has documented how posters are saying things like “Don’t vote! Don’t be a part of the corruption” and “With the Dominion voting machines our votes aren’t gonna be counted anyway. The only way to show the corruption is by boycotting the election or writing in Donald Trump instead.”

Is it Trump's fault that the rates are going up in Canada?  Are Canadians listening to his advice? How about Europeans?  Are they celebrating Thanksgiving too? This has nothing to do with him but with the fact that the rates go up when things open up and people start going back to work.  The two activities and outcomes are antithetical.   Governors open up restaurants and gyms etc, and the rates go up.  They shut them down again when rates increase and rates decrease again.  So they open them again because things look better, and the rates go up again.  It's not brain surgery to understand.  It has nothing to do with what happened in the beginning.  You're stuck on politics.  Well, the election is over.  We can move on now.  Hopefully, the vaccines will create immunity and we'll get on with normal life again.  Until then, the old like me will have to protect ourselves.  And the young will have to make up their own minds what they're going to do.

Yes, there are idiots in Canada too...America does not have them all. The big difference between the way the two countries are handling the virus is in Canada the PM goes onto Canada wide TV and pleads with people to follow the guidelines that have been created with the guidance of health experts.

In the US, the president goes onto nation wide TV and ridicules wearing masks and eggs on the people to go against the guidelines put in place by the states. He disregards the health experts and hold rallies with no social distancing, no mask wearing and a bunch if cheering and hollering...prime virus spreading conditions.

As a result, the US has almost 3 times the death rate and more than 4 times the infection rate.

First: answer to dumb question: no.
Total death rate in Canada: 11500.
Total death rate in US:258,827.
Math isn't another of your strengths.

Yellen is a printer  That's why Wall Street is excited.  Between her and Biden, they're going to print a lot which will inflate the markets into a larger bubble.  You and I will have to pay back the debt created.  Inflation will damage the economy eventually.  Then the markets will sink.  Trump was just as bad.  As a real estate developer, he loves debt.  Neither side is any good when it comes to inflating the dollar.  It's bad for business.  Bubbles eventually "pop".

Janet Yellen earned a PhD in economics from Yale in 1971. The two supervisors of her PhD dissertation later went on to be separately awarded Nobel Prizes in economics in 1981 and 2001. She was described as one of their brightest and most memorable students. Her husband also won the Nobel Prize in economics. Her breadth and depth of knowledge in economics and macroeconomics would fill volumes.

On the other hand, your knowledge of economics would be unlikely to fill a single page and would contain the word printing at least a dozen times. You could fit it on the back of a cereal box with room leftover for a coupon.

Who would I listen to regarding economic policies? I'd have to go with Janet Yellen. I think she'll be an outstanding Secretary of the Treasury that would make Hamilton proud.

The lefties are inherently violent.

Right-wing fanatics create false narratives around groups of people they have targeted as an essential component of their ideology.

White House just says Biden will get access to PDBs.
At least now, a President (albeit elect) will read them. 😜

Alan, you are right, increased infection rates in Canada are not Trump's direct fault. However, the increase of patients with high blood pressure and heart attacks may be.
The Alberta high virus spread example I quoted is not directly attributable to Trump, but to the Alberta "free-spirit" attitude and to the premier of the province not mandating masks.

All Trump's fault.

Note that the major European countries all have higher per capita death rate overall and in the last seven days than the good old USA. All countries that have had heavy lockdowns and mask mandates, btw.
