But the main point is that it's a one-party dictatorial state.  It has a president for life. They lock people up or kill them if they open their mouths.
Just like your guy Trump says, repeatedly, but when your posting history is to make statements with no bearing in fact or data, or provide any when called out, why believe posts that do:
Trump just joked about being president for life — for the 6th time
https://theweek.com/speedreads/852099/trump-just-joked-about-being-president-life--6th-time
And in terms of who's repeatedly called out for locking up opponents, you'd be living in a cave (and that may be the reality here) if you never heard Trump and his followers say that over and over and over again. The main point is, you keep ignoring reality, most often when asked to prove your alternative facts and reality.  :'(

The CCP Chinese Communist Party control the markets and own a lot of the industry.  But the main point is that it's a one-party dictatorial state.  It has a president for life. They lock people up or kill them if they open their mouths.  Even Hongkongers understand this.  Didn't you see them marching for freedom?   Is that the kind of country you'd want to live in?  Is having a low Covid rate worth it to you?

I've seen thousands of people marching in the US streets...some with guns in full view. Is that the kind of country you'd want to live in?

Mexicans are smarter than Americans.  Europeans too. Americans send their troops to Europe to defend Europeans who don't have to spend their money on defense so they can have free healthcare.  At least Trump understood this.  Biden doesn;t.  That's why all the Europeans here like Biden.  They'll save their defense tax money not spent and use it to pay for their own social programs.  Of course the American media, biased as hell against Trump, never explained this to Americans and helped others against their own country.  It's a disgrace.

Whatever topic you decide to opine on, you are so far off is sad. The orange brainwash seems to have worked with you.

And a little bit further back the US were arming the Taliban to help them in their war against schools for girls and all that sort of communist nonsense.

Yup, Rambo 3 was about that.

The USA has armed Bin Laden, the Taliban, Saddam, etc, etc, etc.

Actually, it goes even further back that that. We were arming the mujahideen in Afghanistan to fight against Russia in the Soviet-Afghan War. As I remember, the Taliban rose to power following the departure of the Russians.

Trump should make up his mind. One day he pulls out the troupes, next day he brings them back in.
That has nothing to do with demanding Americans bleed for others when Canadians are not ready to sacrifice their own sons and daughters for a Kurdish homeland. You have no moral authority to make that demand.   Nor does any other non-American.

Criticism is one thing.  Telling us to send our sons and daughters to fight and die for their desires is another.  It takes a lot of nerve to tell other people to fight and die in another land when your own people aren't going. What do they think that this is a computer game? We're the ones who'll have to watch body bags being offloaded from planes on TV every night, not them.  Do you think Biden wants to call the families of these dead troops up every night to tell them how sorry he is that they're dead? And for what?

As far as Europe is concerned, many European soldiers have died as well in the Middle East and many other places. So please stop offending them. And Australian, New Zealands, South Africans, Canadians, etc, etc.

Just to be sure - are you talking about CNN?  Or The Hill?  It gets confusing.
CNN.  I haven't followed the Hill story at all and know nothing about it.

Alan you are so wrong with Canadians involvement helping out the Kurds...again you have no idea about anything outside the US.

The people I've talked with seem OK with their system. I can easily live in Vietnam as the people there give you the shirt off their backs...even if it's their only shirt.

Like I said Alan, maybe you should travel and learn rather than reading your propoganda about how great the US is and how bad other countries are. You just might be surprised that things look a lot different than what the propoganda leads you to believe.
It's not living in Vietnam that's the problem.  It's speaking. Just like China.  We just had an election.  When were the last ones in China and Vietnam?

Joe referenced the Hill article which reported CNN's reporter's apology for comparing Trump's refusal to concede to the Kristallnacht.

CNN is the network that did the interview.  The Hill just reposted it.

It is shit like this that forces me to not take CNN seriously anymore.  The constant comparing Trump to Hitler just destroys that Network's credibility.

I agree that it certainly doesn't help its credibility. I personally have never compared Trump to Hitler; it's obvious to me that the correct comparison would be to Mussolini.

We could say no. That's an option. Then there wouldn't be any body bags being offloaded from planes. But really, when was the last time another country asked the US to send ours sons and daughters to fight and die for their desires? WWII, 75 years ago?

Anyway, I thought it was the US going around asking other countries to send their sons and daughters to fight and die in these conflicts with us. It was called coalition building. I don't remember Canada being the leader of any of the coalitions. It was always the US.
Your whole post is a non sequitur. Totally unresponsive to my posts.

Trump keeps saying the election was rigged, subject to massive voter fraud, and stolen by the Democrats. Sounds like a third world county to me. Sort of like a shit hole country.

You can't have guns in China.  The government is afraid of their people.  Apparently in your country too.

We also fought the English for independence and in the War of 1812 and now they're our allies.  We also fought Spain, a one-time enemy of your Portugal,  in the War of 1898.  They too are our allies as is Portugal.  History is funny that way. I've got a former wife.  :)

I commend their action where they fought with us.  But this is different.  They are not volunteering to send their troops to fight the Turks to help the Kurds.  You want Americans to do that on our own.  You can't ask others to do the fighting for you if you're not ready to sacrifice as well.
