Nope, "we" don't. Is this the first time in your (adult?) life someone has disagreed with you or not taken you seriously? Wow, impossible to believe.
I was responding to Peter's post, so stay out of this.

A good interview with an Atlantic writer over the meaning of "fascist" and his warnings not to overuse the word. I like his line "...an actual fascist has shown up..."

Another word being used incorrectly recently is genocide. 😰

Let me understand this.

Did the speaker of the house yesterday publicly admit that he wants to hide the identity of potential criminal wrong doers from the police by masking their faces on videos? Is that obstruction of justice or is there some loophole at work here? (serious question)

I don't get this. Don't others have these same videos? (serious question)

Maybe he should adapt whatever software he's using to mask these faces to alter the porn that he and his son are trying not to watch. (just having some fun here)

(Remember the quaint old days when people used to made fun of Italian politics or goofy "third-world" dictators?)

Your understanding is correct.
After all these people were just peacefully touring the capital, at least the narrative from many in The Party of Law and Order.

Dont others have these same videos serious question
Serious answer. More facts the carpet pooper will ignore but for others here who don't live on alternative facts from Earth 2

UPDATED MARCH 7 2023
Despite a chorus of widespread attacks on Fox News host Tucker Carlson for his portrayal of the Jan 6 attack on the Capitol, including from Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell  House Speaker Kevin McCarthy defended his decision to hand over more than 40000 hours of related security footage
Carlson and his team had exclusive access to the security tape surrounding the attack thanks to McCarthy drawing concerns the host would use it to spread a new wave of disinformation. McCarthy said on Tuesday evening that he didn't watch Carlsons show the night before where Carlson falsely stated that the attack on the Capitol was mostly peaceful chaos and that the footage does not show an insurrection or riot in progress "I continue to hold that my job here, just like I was asked long before, is to make sure all the transparency comes out and thats exactly what I am doing McCarthy" said

Oh, McCarty announced today he's not running for reelection. Kidneys everywhere sigh of relief  D

Back to Mike Johnson:
Quote
Speaker Mike Johnson RLa said that House Republicans are blurring the faces of those who breached the Capitol on Jan 6 before releasing more security footage in order to bprotect them from retaliation by the Department of Justice "We have to blur some of the faces of persons who participated in the events of that day because we don't want them to be retaliated against and to be charged by the DOJ and to have other concerns and problems" Johnson said in a press conference on Tuesday

And let's dig into retaliation by the DOJ:

In private Trump has told advisers and friends in recent months that he wants the Justice Department to investigate onetime officials and allies who have become critical of his time in office including his former chief of staff John F Kelly and former attorney general William P Barr as well as his ex-attorney Ty Cobb and former Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman Gen Mark A Milley according to people who have talked to him who like others spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe private conversations Trump has also talked of prosecuting officials at the FBI and Justice Department a person familiar with the matter said. In public, Trump has vowed to appoint a special prosecutor to go after President Biden and his family. The former president has frequently made corruption accusations against them that are not supported by available evidence

An expert witness in the 250 million civil fraud trial against Donald Trump said in court Friday that the former presidents political action committee has paid for a portion of his fees to testify on behalf of the defense

Eli Bartov an accounting professor from New York University said that his $900,000 in compensation was split between the Trump Organization and Trumps Save America PAC

While its not unusual for a defendant in a trial to pay expert witness fees  in this case the Trump Organization the use of campaign oriented funds underscores the large amount of money being spent by Trumps PAC on his legal battles

Save America spent more than 20 million on legal fees in the first six months of the year according to campaign finance reports filed in July with the Federal Election Commission The legal expenditures accounted for two thirds of the political operations total spending in the first half of the year

Such a pussy:
In a reversal, Donald Trump says he will not testify in his own defense in New York fraud trial
The former president was scheduled to take the stand Monday as the monthslong, $250 million civil fraud trial against him and his company enters its final week.

I came across a couple of FB posts where the writer was criticizing EVs and the long waits to recharge. He closed by saying how he'll stick to his "XXX" vehicle, continue to eat meat and not eat bugs.

Is there some conspiracy theory out there whereby people think that the "elites" will force them to eat insects?
