Thanks to all.

As an aside I received a PM yesterday - the first of its kind - from someone who found the images upsetting and saw no reason for them to be on public view. I of course, by posting where I have, welcome debate on these issues.

So one viewer with the attitude that "All art must be happy" didn't like them.
And how many of us have praised this series?

I have a daily meditation practice (in a buddhist context) and during this morning's sit this image presented itself very clearly to my mind's eye.

I'm fond of rodents - I'm assuming it's a rat (?)

Thanks again all.

Elliot, I believe it to be a member of the Mustelid family, stoat or weasel, or possibly even a domesticated ferret. One of my previous posts, 2020: The Chinese Year of the Rat is rather spookily a rat. Glad to hear the image was of some use to you.

Eric, I have to say animal life is dear to my heart and as such I do have concerns when people, anyone, misinterprets my intentions.

They are so much more evocative precisely because they are 'dark', or suggestive of "life and death", or decay, and whatever else one may imagine. They are also first rate compositions. Just wonderful.
