Is Kamala Harris 1/3rd white (Irish), 1/3rd brown (Indian) and 1/3rd black (Negro)?

I can't find any definite information about this on the internet. Whilst her mother appears to be a full-blooded Indian, her father, Professor Donald Harris, who emigrated from Jamaica to the US, doesn't appear to be black.

The British colonized Jamaica in the 17th century. Sugar cane became the main crop, which was very labor-intensive to grow and harvest, so the British imported lots of African slaves. However, Donald Harris has written that he is descended from Hamilton Brown who was a slave owner and from Northern Ireland.

Who cares what the vaccine is called? Is that a reason not to take it? Perhaps he named it Sputnik to arouse patriotic feeling in the citizenry so more people would be inclined to get vaccinated, so fewer would catch the virus and die.

Biden agreed to do the debates months ago. Trump finally agreed to do them last week.

Alan - that is the point - the author is writing about politics in general - not about their own politics. You (and I'm not really singling you out personally in this) are exactly the subject of the author.  You see everything as left or right, Rep or Dem, black or white.  Everything.

From this side of the Atlantic, it seems that all Biden needs to do is keep quiet, Trump will lose the election all by himself, thanks to his "tremendous" achievements. IMO, it is not hard to find someone more competent than Trump, can´t get any lower.

Because what you describe is exactly the result of his decisions, more so than any president before him.

Well, if her ancestors weren't slaves but rather slave owners, it raises the question whether she most represents American blacks whose ancestors were in fact slaves.  It becomes important because apparently, we're picking political candidates based on the color of their skin and their ancestry which I think is abhorrent for America.  This dividing us up into groups by race, gender, etc won't end well for the country.

All the pundits on cable TV are talking about nothing but her color.  All the Democrats were demanding that Biden pick no one but a Black woman, which he did.  It was based on gender and race.  Your dismissal of her ancestry isn't supported by the facts.
