Trump knows how to decrease the number of new cases, https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/502819-trump-on-coronavirus-if-we-stop-testing-right-now-wed-have-very-few-cases, just stop testing!  :)

Strictly speaking, it's true, sort of, in the "Bizarro" world anyway.

Yep...stick your head into the sand and it will "magically just go away".

In Ontario, dentists opened about 2 weeks ago, and also some chiropractors, but not the doctors, physiotherapists, osteopaths and other health practitioners. Barbers will be opening soon.
Barbers used to be surgeons. The red and white poles they use in front of their stores use to be white medical cloths stained with blood as they carried out their procedures on the battlefield. We might have to go back to that.

It doesn't burn itself out without the help of humans. The more humans closely interact with each other...the more the virus will leap into another host.
If humans did nothing, more would be infected and more would die. But still, the virus would die out on it's own.  Both things happen.

US stocks surged Tuesday as investors cheered a record jump in monthly retail sales and reports the Trump administration is preparing a $1 trillion infrastructure proposal.
Domestic retail sales rebounded 17.7% in May, a record increase that more than doubled economist estimates.

DOW up 700 points. Most people are cautious, but people are putting the virus behind them as they get on with the economy and their lives.

Tell me how the virus would die out on its own.

As many economists have pointed out, the DOW is not the economy.

Who kills the annual flu?

Does it really die or does it morph itself to come back in the fall?

Why do we have an annual flu?

I agree.  The Fed is pushing the market up not the economy.  On the other hand domestic retail sales increased more than expected.  That's good.  I guess people who are out of work are spending their $600/week government checks on new $1200 iPhones for all those great lenses.  :)

The annual flu that starts every September is not the same strain.  That's why there's a different flu shot annually.  If Covid 19 becomes an annual event where it's a different strain, we're in for a lot of big issues going forward.

But you said it dies out on its own...it does not...it mutates.

I don't think anyone knows that yet.   Let's hope it dies out and doesn't mutate.

The arguments made by science skeptics are also highly mutagenic.  Unfortunately, most of the mutations are quite infectious, and spread rapidly though social media.

Viruses do not die out or go away...even if strain A mutates to strain B, strain A does not disapear.

After this pandemic phase, SARS-COV-2 will become endemic. Even if a vaccine is found, the virus will not go away.

Barbers used to be surgeons.

More accurately, they used to undertake surgical procedures.

And that is why surgeons in the UK drop the title "Dr" and revert to "Mr", "Miss" or "Mrs" (never met a Ms), usually on becoming a Fellow of one of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons. Going down to the badge-making sub-department in the hospital where I was then working and getting them to make me a new badge with "Mr" as the title, was a joyous moment. I think I still have it, somewhere.

I read this hilarious headline: "Trump praises scientists for developing AIDS vaccine that doesn’t exist".

Florida bars and restaurants close just a week after reopening. Note that these closings are voluntary. Governor DeSantis is plowing ahead with reopening notwithstanding record new cases. He attributes the new cases to expanded testing. He and Trump think that the less testing you do, the fewer cases there are.

Trump is stranger than fiction.
