How is that related to Trump?
Are you saying that you think that the criticism of Trump is due to him being a Republican?
Show him more respect as a hard core supporter.
It has nothing to with him having associated himself with the Republican party. It’s only about him, what he does, doesn’t,...
Cheers,
Bernard
Did you read the article I posted? It goes into detail about the media bubble, how it is not an exaggeration to say there is one, and how it formed.
I also think it is quite rich for someone living in Japan to claim to know more about this USA problem. It just reeks of an elitist mentality.
PS, here are some excerpts and brief summary that more explains why the media bubble exist.
First, you need to remember that industries tend to cluster, not spread out. The example given was the auto industry, which concentrated in Detroit, not throughout the country. Only if a strong external reason exist not to cluster, will an industry spread out. Such was the case with print news. You had the difficulty of reporting locally, writing up a story, printing the paper, and delivery it on time, which meant you needed to be local. You also had your main source of revenue, ad purchases, which were also local. This kept the news industry somewhat balanced.
However, when print died (and it's dead), everything went online. No longer did you have issue with printing and delivery, and analytics still allowed advertising to be targeted to one area. So, as happens with every industry, the news media started to concentrate, and did so in area already prime for technology, the coasts. By that, I mean the DC beltway up to NYC and Silicon Valley.
Nearly 90 percent of all internet publishing employees work in a county where Clinton won, and 75 percent of them work in a county that she won by more than 30 percentage points. When you add in the shrinking number of newspaper jobs, 72 percent of all internet publishing or newspaper employees work in a county that Clinton won. That is a bubble that the media built themselves within. It may have not been on purpose, but nonetheless it is a bubble.
The people who report ... news can’t help being affected—deeply affected—by the environment around them. ... The “heart, mind, and habits” of the [NY] Times ... cannot be divorced from the ethos of the cosmopolitan city where it is produced. ... The Times’ news reporting is a pretty good reflection of its region’s dominant predisposition. And yes, a Times-ian ethos flourishes in all of internet publishing’s major cities—Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Seattle, San Francisco and Washington. The Times thinks of itself as a centrist national newspaper, but it’s more accurate to say its politics are perfectly centered on the slices of America that look and think the most like Manhattan. That's the bubble, and that's why the mainstream media is slanted.
Like I said before, a great example of this is how the NYTs is treating Biden's sexual assault allegation vs. how they treated Kavanaugh's sexual assault allegation. Now that this surfaced,
Clip surfaces of Biden accuser Tara Reade's mother phoning into 'Larry King Live' in 1993 alluding to claim it will be interesting if they still are mum's the word on it. If so, it just proves even further the bias.
