I look at the small print on the maps, and it says "Map data 2020." Hurricanes were last year. So I am not sure whether what that "local" is saying is true.
Yes, perhaps. The pier was apparently damaged with the last 300 feet being destroyed. They did close it last fall to begin repairing it, and it is doubtful they got very far since then. Also, the pier can only be fished off of during high tide due to the shortened length from damage. So, presumably in low tide, it would not be above water.
Correction, it is looking like the deck collapsed in towards the end, but most of the pillars are still there.
