Of course, if half those people who received checks are still not working on election day, the check will help them remember who to blame for keeping them out of work. The check would have long been spent.  Of course, the Fed might just still be printing and printing giving away even more money.  They could extend unemployment insurance just long enough to get past election day.  By the time it's over, a roll of 35mm film will cost $38.00.

I sure hope so. I probably have 250 rolls of 35mm, 300 rolls of 120 and 20 packs of 4x5 in my mini freezer which also holds my dogs frozen dog food.

Save the dog food too.  It'll probably worth about three times as much as well.

Don't want to mess with a Doberman's food.

Well, he does not have total control, which was kind of a head scratching moment.

But the fact remains, under the circumstances at the time, and what we knew then, I can not fault Trump for what he did or did not do, especially when nearly everyone in the world was criticizing him for what he was doing.  I know many Democrats who will never vote for Trump who tell me the same thing in private.

I am afraid you are missing the point here.

Whether he does or not have total control is irrelevant. What is relevant is that he thinks he has total control.

Which completely validates the fact that his inaction was not, contrary to what Craig and you kept claiming, due to his inability to drive the States. But purely the result of his own decision not to take action.

Since he thinks he has total power he would have had the states to act otherwise. Exactly like he is now telling us the States will follow his orders for the deconfinement.

Cheers,
Bernard

If it comes to a crunch and we'll have to switch to black bears for guarding, they like the dog food too.

OTOH, Jeff Bezos and AMZN investors are doing quite well. AMZN shares jumped up in the last few days by about $300/share, and Prime customers are now waiting 9 days for their 1 day shipments.

That's like saying the Americans love Tump: sweeping statement.

I'm sitting at home shooting product.

That's shocking! I hadn't thought of you as an armchair photographer.

I own an iPhone and opted out of that.  Plus, like I said before, they can not give out specific information without a warrant.

For one so paranoid about everything else, how touching to discover that you still believe in American fairies!

Quote
“Quarantine is when you restrict movement of sick people. Tyranny is when you restrict the movement of healthy people,” Meshawn Maddock, an organizer of the protest with the Michigan Conservative Coalition.

That's about the level of clarity of thought one might expect from rabble-rousers. It totally ignores the reasons behind the restrictions and makes a play on words that, sadly, is about as misleading - but attractive to those following such people - as bullshit gets.

In other words, a mass appeal to the logic of the mindless moron.

(It stirs a memory that I have of hearing such crap flowing from the mouths of young communists when I worked in engineering: people obsessed with finding scapegoats to blame for their hopeless pos¡tions in the industrial complex within which they felt themselves to be inextricably mired for the rest of their lives. All they had to do to escape was retrain as something other than factory fodder. Such an easy escape, but it took personal action rather than complaint to achieve.)

Thanks William and thanks.

Just an FYI, I dont party hard on Champagne everyday; the hangovers cant be topped by anything else.

I used to find it very hard to drink more than three flutes of the stuff; it has an acidic quality that just closed my mouth's abilty to accept any further input. When we first came to live in Spain we went through a stupid - and lengthy - period of overloading on all sorts of things that suddenly became available here at prices that were prohibitive in Britain. Eventually, we settled on Viña Sol at meals and a G&T perhaps now and again if we wanted to celebrate just being young, alive and together. Sunny mornings can do that. Fortunately, I had given up smoking about fifteen years earlier, or else the temptations might have been fatal.

Thanks, Rob :(

P.S. I am looking forward to the next weekend's 84-hour house arrest. Talk about tyranny.

That's like saying the Americans love Tump: sweeping statement.

Milosevic was not just loved by the majority of Serbs, but simply adored, worshipped. His picture was in people's home next to their saint's icon. My late father saw him as a national savior. While visiting me in Moscow, to see his first grandchild, and having planned to stay for a month, threatened to leave on the third day, after I said something mildly negative about Milosevic. Or would slam the phone for the same reason once back home.

You guys who get your news from the media simply have no clue.

Great circular logic here.

No, it's totally linear and very simple.

- February time frame:
    - I (Trump) have total control on the States and use that total control to ensure that measures against the pandemic that would hurt the economy are not taken by the States/delayed/limited

- April time frame:
I (Trump) have total control on the States and use that total control to ensure that measures against the pandemic taken by the States that do hurt the economy  are stopped as quickly as possible

Totally consistent.

The facts that he only expressed his total control over the States mid April doesn't change the fact that it was his view all along.

Cheers,
Bernard

Since I don’t have my banking information on file with the IRS, I’ll be getting one of those checks.  I’ll make sure to photograph it.  Trumps name will be cool to see.

Maybe he could put an etching of Mar-A-Lago on the back of the $10 bill.  :)

... And Fauci did say lives would have been saved if action was taken earlier.

No, he didn't say it the way it was used as a click-bait title.

What he did say, sarcastically, is that it is of course true, just like all truisms are true, just like all hindsights are 20/20.

It is the same as saying tackling Hitler earlier would have prevented WWII. Duh!
