Are you serious?  The American Press has seriously lost their credibility a long time ago.

Yep, watched it live.

Joe Exotica is serving a long prison sentence for something and wrote Trump for a pardon. Don Jr. talked about it on some radio show or podcast a couple of days ago. So it isn't entirely out of left field. It wouldn't have been my first question though.

Its a damn CV press conference...its from way out in left field.

Comparing Trump to a Communist dictator who killed people is disgraceful.  What's next?  Hitler?

You do realize that if you read the posts things will make more sense, don't you?
There was a quote in my reply to Joe. It was a sarcastic reply, if he wants to make that comparison he might as well use better pictures.
I happen to know more about Ceausescu than most people here, I know the differences between him and Trump.

I didn't say anything about temperatures.  I said the season is changing and many things affect life cycles.  At least that's what I'm hoping for.  What are you hoping for?

It's doubtful that the warmer temperatures or longer summer days will kill the virus. And even if the virus subsides somewhat (after killing millions of older, more susceptible people) it won't go away by itself. Latest counts - 1.5m infections, 88,000 deaths.

When I made that prediction, everyone here was figuring things might open up in the fall or later. May 5th is a very optimistic date, especially when I made it.  Let's be optimistic. I realize you don't like Trump.  But wouldn't it be great if it ends sooner and we can get back to normal living?

Alan I believe you also predicted that people will only take this isolation for 2 weeks ( that was like over 2 weeks ago ) before they will become desperate from lack of food and all hell will start breaking loose.

I am obviously hoping that as few people as possible are affected and suffer from the disease.

In this context false hope can kill.

If the aspects of summer you hope will help isn’t temperature but natural social distancing then there is no reason to wait, it can be done today.

Every comment I have made here is aligned with this hope.

Regards,
Bernard

I also think this natural social distancing in the summer is BS. It's when people get together and have bbq, block parties, party on the beach, camping parties, party at the bar, nightclub...it's basically when people emerge from the dark winter days and go out and socialize.

Does that also go for trump loving news from Fox? Or is that "real news"

You can double those deaths. There has been plenty of under reporting, even in the US, to make those "official" figures extremely suspect. When the mayor of New York cones out and says that another 100 to 200 deaths at home resulting from the virus are not part of the official tally...well that paints a different picture.

ROTFLMAO

Try to put yourself in their shoes.

How would you react if you were bullied again and again when you do the job American citizens are expected you to do?

The job that reporters do in all the democracies of the planet? And to which all democratically elected leaders comply?

Cheers,
Bernard

How do you know that it won't go away by itself? How else is it going away?  We don't have any vaccine or antidote.  How does the flu go away every year?

Someone else made that two week prediction.  Of course, all hell may start breaking loose soon as things have gotten testy at home with the Mrs., not because of lack of food :)

Well, if true, that means that the number of deaths in other countries are suspect as well.

Yes, exactly. Mayor of NY cones out and claims 100 to 200 people die daily in their homes from Covid...I'm sure that's happening most other places where the medical system is in chaos.

Thanks to a combination of several factor resulting in the number of patients transmission going below one.

Those include vaccination, a pre-existing immunity,... that work towards building group imunity.

For the corona silulations inducate the 65% of the population would need to become imune for the pandemic to not restart as soon as confinement stops. Which us unlikely to occur with current situation before many months it seems.

Cheers,
Bernard

That is usually what happens in the summer.  Very fast observation.

I just don't think this is the case.  I think significantly more have already caught this then what we know.

I am damn near positive my wife and I had this in January.  We had the worse cold of our lives, shortness of breadth, and both were bed ridden for days and had a mild pneumonia.  Neither of us have been anywhere near precautious when going outside and interacting with people either.  Now, with that said, this is a slower time of year and we normally stay inside much of the time anyway around now.

Until people do testing for anti-bodies, we have no idea where this will go.

Additionally, and what many people keep on ignoring (like you) all of the models keep on getting revised lower each and every day.  Now they predicting no more then 60K deaths in the USA.  This is not look to be as bad as everyone said a month ago.

Well, if true, that means that the number of deaths in other countries are suspect as well.

In all other countries some of their C19 deaths will be attributed to other causes - pneumonia, flu, heart attacks. In addition, there will be other indirect deaths (due to diabetes, fractures, other infections, late cancer detections, postponed elective surgeries, etc.) because of the lack of the medical resources (doctors, nurses, ambulances, lab tests).

But vaccination won't be available for 12-18 months, maybe.  And there's no pre-existing immunity - this is the first time the virus has infected us.  So it seems that it must go through society so we develop herd immunity,  something Slobo recommended weeks ago when he said we shouldn't self-isolate.  At least we would have saved our economies. After all, what advantage is it to me as an old fart with conditions getting the infection now or 6 or 12 months from now?  Well, there could be an antidote.  So that would be helpful.  Otherwise, it's pay now or pay later.
