If my neighbour dressed in a burlesque costume starts dancing on her front porch, it would for sure attract some onlookers. But she knows better than to do that.

Regrettably, she does it only in the summer at a block party.

Sorry, I just don't buy this and consider it BS.  He was on his property playing an acoustic guitar, which is not against any laws.  The crowd formed naturally, which is not his fault, and I doubt he was charging money and instigating it.  Giving someone a ticket for play an instrument on their own property is pure dictatorship actions, I dont care the reasons.

And please, at least try to give an appropriate analogy.  Your's is so far off it's not worth recognizing.

Always a pleasure discussing things with you.

Regardless if a crowd showed up or not, he has the legal right to play on his front porch, full stop.

The problem with stuff like this is what sticks around?  During every crisis, those Napoleons in hiding convince us we need to give up some of our liberties in order to fight the battle with the promise we will get back what ever we gave up.  However, this is never the case.  There are always some liberties we sacrifice that we do not get back, ever.

In PA you still cant have a privately run liquor store, something that was put in place due to the prohibition craze back in the beginning of the 20th century.  Everytime someone tries to admend this, it ends in failure.  What about the employees of our state store they cry.  Or how about the tax revenue?

How about our state stores suck compared to some neighboring states' liquor stores.

Going this far is just too much, and even if something like this does not become permanent, it just makes it look whatever is being not so bad, because hey, at least they will let us play instruments again.

People are actually getting pulled over and ticketed for just going out for a drive.  What are they going to do, spit on passing cars.  All this stuff is getting to be nonsensical.

You want a sure fire way to get people to not care anymore about the lockdown, keep on promoting doing things like this.

Picture a two panel cartoon.

Left panel: Harry Truman at the presidential desk with his sign "The buck stops here."

Right panel: Donald Trump at the presidential desk with a sign "I don't take responsibility at all."

We beat this dead horse yesterday.

Yawn, unless you pick up a pencil and start drawing.  I'm not going to lie, if I tried drawing a cartoon, we would all be entertained.  I am sure it is the case with most photographers.

Spain and Portugal are not getting bailed out by EU bonds and other stimulus as the Netherlands objects. Just after Brexit, the virus is starting to challenge EU unity.

Sorry, I realize this is a repeat on my part. But try this:

Left panel, Queen Elizabeth: "When this crisis is over, let's hope that each of us can look back and say we did the best we could."

Right panel, President Trump: "I am number 1 on Facebook!"

Actual quotes, by the way.

I think from a modern perspective, this would make much more sense.   ;)

Like I said, pick up a pencil and show us what you can do.  If I were to try and draw this, we would get two good laughs.

And history may indeed note that Trump will still be #1 come November.

Perhaps it is best to spare society the attempts at drawing by photographers.

This is just round 1 of a process that is going to be long. Spain and Italy are amongst the countries that want coronabonds to mutualize debt, Netherlands and Germany are against it. Those 2 countries are quite important forthe EU - France joins them too. Portugal is too small to make an impact.

What the Eurogroup wants to implement now is a 500 billion packageto be lent at low interest rates. The downside is that countries like Italy would see their debt/IGP raise by a lot, with the consequences of lowering their market rates. The countries defending the bonds say that this time around, contrary to 2008, this crisis is nobody's fault, and so all EU countries should join efforts, they are all being hit.

I think this is a pivotal moment for the EU, if it does  not work together to sove such crisis, then it is worthless.

Greece almost didn't get the help they needed a few years ago when times were good.  Now, even the big countries like Germany, are being hurt very badly, even before the virus hit.  Everyone's tightening their belts and have little to spare.  The stores are empty.  Here in America, we face the same thing.  But we'll just print money dreaming that's the way to end the economic crisis.  We're all in for a rude awakening. There are no free lunches.

It strikes me that for some, the base of republicanism is obviously deep-set paranoia.

Explains everything, including the guns and the utter lack of comprehension of anything contrary to the catechism.

Oh well, there you go.

LOL.  Meanwhile, here in the USA, every Dem has come out and said that we should use this emergency as an opportunity to fundamentally change the country and increase government.

So when it comes down to it, I am very happy with who is in charge because, say what you will about him, he is not looking to expand government in any permanent fashion.  He has refused to take any kind of dictatorship powers, which the left has insisted on for years that he would given the opportunity.

Well, by printing all that money for the purpose of helping out companies, and maybe owning some of their stock, he's taking a very Socialist position.  The re-distribution of wealth has now increased exponentially.  Trump had thrown in with the Socialists.  So have all the Republicans.  Sanders won.
