Frank, your snide comments are really annoying. If you don't have an answer to my question about filters, why don't you just let others answer?

Not really. You have been very informed and conscientious about staying safe. I am just surprised that you are now thinking about dropping your guard and going with something that is "almost as good." It is out of character. Sets up cognitive dissonance.

We're stuck between a rock and a hard place. Trying to thread the needle and find a proper balance is creating huge problems as we fumble around in the dark.  It's not an either or situation although many people try to make it one.  There are no easy solutions.

You certainly upped the ante and went over the top when you pulled the trigger on this post.

Sorry Frank. I shouldn't have unloaded on you.

I take no special care with the mail.  Transfer of virus from paper products is not anything I worry about.  I also don't take any precautions with groceries either.

Sensible chap. I can barely believe the hysteria I see represented on this thread.

I have deleted a number of overtly political posts in this thread and banned those who posted them (and what I take to be the alter ego of one of the posters) for a week.

With luck, they'll have developed some self-control by the time they return; but luck seems in short supply at present.

Maybe acid from heartburn is killing virus spread, not the anti-acid medicine itself.  Those medicines that work poorly against heartburn actually are better for those with Covid.  My dentists gave me some awful tasting and burning liquid to rinse with before they started work on me.  Prof. Trump Elixir might be better.

Coronavirus outcomes improved by heartburn drug famotidine, according to study
"Famotidine was associated with lower risk of mortality in COVID-19 patients"

A little selective with your admonishments....
Not really, you are just the most recent one that I have called out.

Don't know if this has been posted before:

There are a variety of papers that I've seen disproving this.

Apparently the experts are disagreeing again.

Hardly surprising when dealing with Science...

On the Portuguese side of things, we are now out of the UK black list, so Brits can come here without having to submit to a quarantine on the way back. We are told this is important to our economy, which of course is true. It took 2 months to lower the key indicator (new cases per 100,000) to acceptable levels.

I wonder how many will travel now to the Algarve, because discos and bars are still closed:) The Spaniards opened them, just to close them down again a few weeks afterwards...

Please knock it off. Everyone seems to understand how acquiring new knowledge works except you.

I hope things open for you.  I know how important tourism is for Portugal.
