Don't, for a moment, think yourself singled out: it's a general malaise that happens - I think - when any thread runs past a critical number. A bit like Chinese whispers, attention spans frequently become easily too stretched, and dedicated thought drifts into other waters. In some cases it can be quite rewarding, but I suppose that this was one thread that might have been thought to offer an opportunity of lifting the spirits away from gloom, doom, numbers, political cant and partisan skirmishes. That said, as so many of the contributions appear to have no purpose but to influence the next US general election, perhaps that's what the writing majority actually finds more interesting than themselves and their personal ways of coping with this crisis. Come to think of it, pushing party propaganda may be all some of them have as an identifiable personality.

I am under the impression that for some the entertainment during the lockdown is the attempted launch the 2nd American Civil War.

That's going to prove to be a logistical problem. Hollywood won't be operating because of the virus, and will thus be unable to record, edit and show the improved version of the show.

A good friend of mine has been jonesing for one of those high-end RVs for years but just can't bring himself to spend the money. Meanwhile, time passes.

A fine ambtiion - even at my age!

I would love to have some shooting time in that location. No with any of the three wearing ball-crusher pants, but with a model of choice. Or even just with the locations.

I'd rather have a boat. My wife and I were offered a week in her parent's large caravan. We lasted a night. Not our thing. However, nights on yachts ended far too soon.

The lesson of the yachts was that it's nice to able to kiss the hosts adieu and know you don't have to keep paying the crew, the various marinas, stumping up for the diesel etc. If ever there was a true saying about boats it's this: if you have to ask what it costs you can't afford it.

How big of a boat?   I used to photograph lots of cruisers, up to 40 feet.   I always thought having one would be great, moored on Lake Michigan, just an hour from the city where we had the studio.   Then we thought about it.  Only 4 months of weather good enough to make being on it pleasant, dock fees, storage fees, fuel costs if you actually took it out, maintaining it....well you know the picture.   

Then the 08 crash ended the marine business and I  was no longer tempted whenever a nice big cruiser came into the studio.   Luck me😂

Many years ago, I amused myself one summer by travelling to and photographing every lock on the Trent-Severn river system, which is a major recreational boatway from Trenton, Ontario to Port Severn on Georgian Bay. At one of the locks I met a couple in a fairly large sailboat from Ann Arbor, Michigan. They had spent the summer travelling by boat, not sure of their departure point, but they made their up Lake Michigan, across Lake Huron and Georgian Bay, down the Trent-Severn to Trenton, then across Lake Ontario to the Rideau River system locks all the way to Ottawa and were on their way back home via the same route. Wouldn't 2020 be a perfect summer for that kind of voyage, gas is cheap, probably less congestion at the locks, etc.
