As I said, it is neither bigoted, nor racist, no matter who does it. But it shows something else. The similarity between the left, socialism/communism and religion. Self-criticism and apology is a crucial part of the socialist doctrine. As is self-flagellation, accepting we are all sinners, asking for forgiveness, and penance in religion.

If I remember Brown's 'Code correctly, quite a lot of self-flaggie went down on the extreme right religious wing too...

I suppose that rules out the great Russians, then, though perhaps the reds one finds under beds are not reds at all. Never heard of any of them saying sorry: just "that way to the salt mines, comrade!"
