The Trudeau Farce
« on: September 19, 2019, 04:47:55 pm »

Hey ho, and here we go: the politically correct of this world are now wetting their collective pair of knickers over a guy who went to a "thousand-and-one-nights" gig wearing a turban, a large jewel (possibly fake) and brown makeup. I believe he wore more than that, but had he been naked, it wouldn't matter to the brigade in this particular correctness department, possibly because of competitive reluctance to cross swords with the morality department people, and confuse the political issue which is not morals, this time, but fancy dress. I have not yet discovered the correct dress code that these vigilantes would have felt suited the occasion, a concept based, actually, on literary and cinematic romantic notions of the imagined glamour and exoticism of the Middle East.

With all the real shit that's going down, petrol becoming expensive again, war more than likely on a far larger scale than usual in the Middle East, this is what fills the news today!

If I have to draw a conclusion, then, it's hard to come to any other than this: there is something in the minds of the protesters that believes brown (or black, for that matter) is clearly inferior to white, and thus, in an effiort to show publc consideration to those unfortunate enough to own more natural sun protection than others - if I had had, I would not now suffer from actinic keratosis, nor would I have had to have two carcinoma basals cut out of my pretty face (well, that was a belief held before the cataracts went away) - attempt to make political capital and exercise blunt character assassination out of a happy night out. Truth is, if you feel incensed by people putting on brown, then you can only feel that way because of your belief that white is best, so your sense of superiority drives you to protest to defend the feelings of inferiority that you imagine those with more pigment to their natural, protective armoury feel. How bloody arrogant is that!

And to make it even more silly, the man plays to their game and says sorry! He should have laughed in their purple faces and told them to get a sense of humour and a perspective on occasion.

Sheeesh.

Seems like he's more of a bigot than Trump.  Trump only uses orange face paint.

Doubtful.
Trump never wore blackface.  You guys always are quick to call you enemies racist.  Trudeau did this three times.  He's like the Democrats in Virginia that did the same the same thing.  A Democrat governor, DA, and Lt. Governor.

"Justin Trudeau faced further embarrassment Thursday after a new picture and video surfaced showing the Canadian prime minister wearing blackface, the third such incident to emerge in the past 24 hours.

A video obtained by Global News shows Trudeau covered in dark makeup with his hands in the air laughing, sticking out his tongue and making faces. His arms and legs are covered in black makeup as well. The video was shot in the 1990s but it's unclear where it took place.

News of the footage comes a day after Globe and Mail's Robert Fife tweeted a picture of Trudeau wearing an afro wig and singing the Jamaican song "Day-O," during a talent show in the early 1990s at Jean Brebeuf high school."

I wonder if he won the talent show?

What shoe?

It seems there's a significant difference between, say, cow-towing to the Saudis (or the Russians) and putting on costume makeup.

But Canadians are still much nicer to their "racists." They call it "brown face," as if being less black and more brown means less racist. On the other hand, the picture proves his face was actually black AF.

Canadians apparently use this racism scale:

It's worth repeating your post, Rob, since nobody could put it as eloquently as you.
It was indeed a low and stupid blow, you should see how many publications in Canada devoted their pages and thousands of trees to this nonsense. Not counting many hours on TV and radio commentaries.

I wonder how long did it take the Conservatives to find that clown act. Maybe if they dig 15 years further back, they will find Trudeau's photo in another silly costume,
Well, as a good Canadian, he is used to say sorry, and he'll move on to handle another national emergency.

Coincidentally, last night I saw Disney's latest Alladin movie with Will Smith, and you won't believe the affront - they painted him as a blue skinned Genie. Disgrace and insult to all black and brown people. Even to the cast of Avatar.

And, and this is true! Just got a call from my local Canada Conservative MP to consider voting for them. I gave them earful of the brown face story and promised to vote this time Green.

There is nothing more satisfactory than watching the lefties fall into their own trap.

Do I think what Trudeau did is racist? Of course not. But I don't think it is racist if anybody else did.

Unless it’s watching righties doing the same thing.  Especially since they have oh, so many more traps to fall into.

You realize, Pete, that everytime you say something nasty about Trump, your PM Trudeau is going to be thrown right back at you as being worse?  Not only were the three incidents and pictures of him already published.  Trudeau has acknowledged there may even be more!!!  He said he forgot he did these things so can;t remember the exact quantity.  I think he should have just said that he was practicing for a gig in a vaudeville act.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau apologized on Thursday after it emerged that he had worn racist makeup on at least three occasions decades ago.

Well, it wasn't a racist makeup decades ago, but now it qualifies as such. What a progress we made!

Les, he did this not decades ago, but the latest in 2001.  When he was a school teacher.  Yikes!!  Would you have ever considered wearing blackface?  I wouldn't even think of doing something like that.  Maybe someone drugged him.  Did he get drunk like Kavanaugh?   Three times?   ::)

Not only he wore a black face mask, but did you see his socks?

I wouldn't put anything on my face. Not even Nivea cream.
He wasn't drinking as Kavanaugh. As to someone drugging him, that was not necessary. He is known to have done it voluntarily without any assistance.
That's why the MJ is legal in Canada now.

I knew there was something strange about him.  Chewbacca socks!!!  You're right.  He must have been high.  Was this before or after they legalized weed?  His maple leaf socks are OK, very patriotic.  I just ordered a belt from Croakies for myself that looks like the American flag.  Yes, I'm sober as a judge.  I'd send one to Trump but I don't think they have his size.   :-[

That's the trouble with all of these people who latch onto the colour card - they have no sense of proportion or of fun. I suppose they think Disney should be sued for putting out such inflammatory stuff as black men turning blue.

People can no more choose their own colour than their intellect. As some know, I lived in India for about eight years, and I think I met as many real gentlemen there as anywhere else. I think I'd feel safer wandering, lost, through some poor parts of Bombay than of Glasgow. It could be because of the fact of knowing my own lot too well, and the other lot not, but that's how I feel about it at present, anyway. And here, in Mallorca, it's similar: total strangers all appear charmingly helpful wherever I've gone, but I still would avoid parts of the single big city, Palma. Drugs. Kids with a habit to finance. Going to Palma these day, when I must, I no longer wear a watch. And if the camera goes, it's the older of the pair.
