I just got to the MFA today to see the Exhibit "Viewpoints," 150 prints from the recently acquired Howard Greenberg collection of 20th century photographs. This has to be the most comprehensive exhibit of the best 20th century photography that I have seen anywhere, and seeing the real prints rather than reproductions is mind-blowing. I say this even though there isn't a single Ansel Adams in the show, and only one each (but what great examples) of Edward Weston and Minor White.
Russ would like this show a lot, as it illustrates the human connection beautifully.
From the MFA

"Viewpoints
Photographs from the Howard Greenberg Collection
August 10???December 15, 2019
Among the many photographers represented are Berenice Abbott, Margaret Bourke-White, Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Walker Evans, Robert Frank, Consuelo Kanaga, Dorothea Lange, Gordon Parks, Edward Steichen, and Weegee. Together, the works on view demonstrate the emotive power of the camera and the photographic print."
It's only up for another five weeks, so go see it soon, if you are anywhere near Boston.
