Holy shit! Where did that news come from? Does anyone know the cause and circumstances?

He's one of my heroes.

Indeed, Rest in peace, Peter, and thank you for many, many beautiful images that I have enjoyed over the years.

He was just a kid. Maybe I just missed it, but I didn't see anything about cause of death.

No cause of death was noted in the NY Times obit.  Here is a an article on him with some of the more iconic images:  https://www.nytimes.com/2019/09/04/fashion/peter-lindbergh-dead.html?searchResultPosition=1  I have always found the Kate Moss picture enchanting.  It also references a documentary film that came out earlier in the year.  I don't know if this is on any of the common streaming services.

In this photograph, Lindbergh encapsulated all that I currently want to shoot: city portraits of beautiful people. Some act to attempt to follow. Some hope, but way better than no hope.

Regarding cause of death: I have seen no official comment, but from one or two late pictures, there appeared to be a rapid loss of weight and the appearance of sudden aging, which often signals one thing.
