The OP gave us no idea what kind of photography he was doing just that he wanted the camera to figure things out for him.

Perhaps full Auto is an answer for him.

I never bother looking at the histogram on my Nikon cameras. I choose my shutter speed and ISO by looking at the exposure meter in the viewfinder, using a single square focus and exposure point, and AF/On or AF/L button for focusing.

If the shutter speed is too slow for the conditions, I increase it and manually increase ISO, or take advantage of the ISO-invariant nature of the Nikon cameras. There's usually a slight advantage in increasing ISO. The cameras are not truly ISO-invariant.

The GFX 100 does this, and you can pick between two CoCs. The in-focus band is indicated by blue shading in the focus distance scale in the EVD and LCD.

The Zeiss Batis lenses for Sony FE have the little window on top that calculate DOF. I am not sure if it is independent of the sensor resolution though.

This would be nice to have. In the meantime, since I have the time to do it in the field, I resort to checking the post-shot histogram in image review to check for any colour channel clipping. I have my Fujis set to Provia JPEG profile since that is often where I end up with my RAWs.

After a while, it is pretty second nature to estimate whether a shot will work or not, even before shooting.
