You probably know that that's an eternity in hurricane trajectory forecasting, and by then many updates had been issued regarding the most likely course it would follow. In fact, the 'spaghetti chart' that Trump later produced in an attempt to prove that he is not as stupid as he portraited himself to be, showed that the most likely path was already bowing North before the center reached Florida. Which makes him look even worse as commander in chief who stayed home to
play golf manage a potential upcoming crisis. He just demonstrated that he is incompetent.
It started with what might have been a small error, but it turned into an obsessive demonstration of his incompetence, and more importantly the danger he poses to others when he is pointed out that he is wrong about something. It then becomes an all-consuming obsession. He is increasingly becoming a danger to himself and the USA, and the rest of the world.
