Oh, dear God, really!

Just look at the amount of words used to explain it.

Enter soccer: there is a boy, there is a ball, there is a goal... go get it in. End of story!

Good grief! Even I know better than that: you need to begin with at least twenty-two boys or, these days, girls. There is strategy, without which it would become boring... then there is chanting, a part of strategy, but played by the supporters' clubs, which is mainly insulting to the opposing team and meant to raise their collective temper and force them into making mistakes. There is also same-side chanting, where players of your own team are mocked and/or taunted, often because of race, where scoring goals takes secondary position to not being colour-coded according to the regulation Pantone System. Just another kind of penalty, in a way.

This can be a very subtle tactic enjoyed by those who want to have their own team punished by the relevant football authorities either through fines or by being banned from several matches. It can be useful if they know the club probably faces a thrashing somewhere down the line. Being banned is not humiliating; losing is.

Then there is the money. It will buy bring you beautiful, over-decorated, over-madeup, over-amplified empty women who will play their part cleverly and gaze up into your face in rapture at all public occasions where there is a camera. These creatures will make you feel so good, much as did delightful Delilah poor old Samson. And in the end, they may well cost you just as much. I don't think many of them buy diesel cars.

Photographers can only look on in envy and wonder why they got it all so wrong.

Some people enjoy games with more complex rules than soccer. Not everything needs to be simple-minded. It is like criticizing chess because it is not checkers. I can't stand to watch professional soccer - all those player rolling around on the field faking injuries is infantile. And of course, nothing happens, which is why all the fans get drunk.
Having watched my share of sports of all kinds, I find that football and baseball game attendees consume far more beer than those going to soccer matches.  I speaking only about in game consumption and not pre- and post- game drinking.

In all those cases the "fans" need their fix in oder to maintain their ability to believe.

Here's a suggestion for ending those fake injury dives http://induecourse.ca/how-to-solve-the-problem-of-diving-in-soccer/.

It is being taken care of by the implementation of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) which all the major football leagues in Europe are now employing.  VAR provides a quick review to the Central Referee.

I'll help.  Here's a one minute speech given by former President Clinton before Congress that Trump could use in his 2020 campaign regarding illegal immigration. .

Noooooo....  that must be a deep fake. No Democrat ever could be against open borders, abolishing ICE and Dept. of Homeland Security, free healthcare and college for illegals, etc.

Sarcasma aside, here is yet another proof how far have Democrats move from the left to the loony left:

"Democrats have moved ‘too far to the left,’ says BET network founder Bob Johnson"

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/07/09/democrats-too-far-to-the-left-bet-networks-bob-johnson-says.html

Quote
...Johnson described himself as a long-time centrist and Democrat. He publicly supported Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election. However, he has since expressed admiration for some of Donald Trump’s policies, particularly those related to the economy.

“I think the economy is doing great, and it’s reaching populations that heretofore had very bad problems in terms of jobs and employments and the opportunities that come with employment … so African-American unemployment is at its lowest level, ” Johnson said...

“I give the president a lot of credit for moving the economy in a positive direction that’s benefiting a large amount of Americans,” he said. “I think the tax cuts clearly helped stimulate the economy. I think business people have more confidence in the way the economy is going.”...

“A lot of people are not going to like that style,” he said, “but when he says he’s going to try to do something economically, you have to give him credit for taking some specific steps to do that.”

“At the end of the day, the American people are looking for someone who can deliver economically and deliver on opportunities,” he said.

Emoluments case against Trump thrown out on Appeal in unanimous decision.  The States suing had lacked standing to even sue.  Basically a witch hunt by democratic control states.  Our federal system leaves things like this up to the federal (national) government.  It's not the states' business.

It still leaves open the emoluments suit by congress which should be more interesting.

There are many ways in which a batsman can be out.

On a short visit to Oz, I instructed myself to watch cricket on TV for a few hours, just to see WTF.

One fascinating detail germane to us here at LuLa was the use of infrared cameras to identify thermal traces left when a ball grazed a player's uniform.  If hit, he's out.

Baseball is a game perfectly designed for television. A mixture of political insurrection, guerrilla warfare and ballet.
Soccer (okay, "football") is ice hockey played in molasses.

There.  That's the sum of my knowledge of sports.

You obviously were not paying attention - the ball has to hit the bat to be out caught, if it merely grazes some part of the clothing (gloves count as part of the bat) then the batter would be NOT OUT!

We actually don't know whether it is a witch hunt or not since nothing was decided on the merits. We'll see how the other cases pan out.

Thanks for the correction. I do recall that it was important enough that they stalled play while they consulted playback.  The commentators replayed it several times with "ooos" and "aaahhhhs"

Emoluments have nothing to do with violating state laws. It's a Federal violation.  The Democrat State AJ's just didn't like him and were out to harass and try to embarrass him. They were on a witch hunt.

The wheel turns.   What comes around goes around as Democrats start eating their own, playing the race card, when they accuse Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Democrat candidate ex-VP Biden of being racists.  What buffoons. Republicans are having a good laugh and eating it up.

Science says you need a good night's sleep. Democratic presidential candidates agree:

Kamala Harris - slept to the top
Joe Biden - falls asleep
Bernie Sanders - slept through history classes
Mary Buttplug - sleeps on his stomach
Elizabeth Warren - sleeps in a wigwam
Beto - dreams in Spanish

Science says you need a good night's sleep.

That only partly explains Trump's behavior.

Cheers,

He is a mutt. However, not so Swiss milk chocolate as the covers try to present. All part of making him more digestible to the masses. Fired would have been the one to make him darker.
