Hi Bart, You were going to explain how you think the reprobates in your cartoon have benefited from Trump's policies and actions.

Was I?

Is it that hard that you need an explanation?

Cheers,
Bart

According to everything I've read and seen, Trump has made life harder for these guys. You're going to have to explain why you think they've benefited. Maybe you can bring out some of your charts.

Apparently some explanation is still required, amazing.

Let's take North Korea as an example. The role of Trump is overestimated, early 2018, this was just Kim's two-track strategy (using Trump was just part of that strategy, he was useful). This was just Kim's two-track strategy going by the book that was prepared in 2017.

Until the nuclear missiles were ready, diplomacy was not an option for Kim. Now that they are ready, he is committing himself to economic growth. And so diplomacy ...

Trump was eager to get attention (and/or distraction from other issues), so he was used by Kim for creating a platform in the international arena for Kim. The only person who has really gained anything, is Kim.

Cheers,
Bart

Apparently, the stock market thinks Trump did a good job overseas.
https://www.cnbc.com/2019/06/30/dow-futures-surge-220-points-at-the-open-after-trump-and-xi-agree-to-not-impose-more-tariffs.html

The market jumped up in the morning and then it ended just with less than half of the early morning gains. Quite standard pattern for the last few months, any news will move the market. Apple and Google, among others, are still 10% off their recent heights. Most likely a cut in the interest rate will do more to stimulate the market than the vague China-USA trade talk speculations.

Bart may have something better, but how ‘bout this:

Isn’t Saudi Arabia getting an arms deal that includes setting up a high tech weapons factory there?

An oligarch friend of Putin has had US sanctions lifted against three of his companies.

As for North Korea, perhaps Bolton’s absence at the DMZ tête-à-tête is a clue, as is Ivanka’s presence. Perhaps a more moderate stand toward N.K. nuclear disarmament?

This may sound strange, but I think Donald is maneuvering for a Nobel in his dealings with N.K.

A couple of years ago we were almost at war with NK.  Since then, we're smiling at each other.  NK has stopped nuclear explosions and long range missile testing.  They've released American "hostages".   But we still have sanctions on. However, we're talking again. That's a lot better than previous presidents have done.  No, it's not resolved, maybe won't be.  But you got to give credit where it's due.  Otherwise it just appears you just hate the president and that's it.  Regular people know what's going on.  When they see both leaders step over the DMZ, you have to get a good feeling and hope.  What's your plan to resolve the issues?

I can't get away from these people.  PS =all Democrats.
You can move out to San Diego and be represented by Duncan Hunter, Jr., a Republican who has misused campaign funds, cheated on his wife multiple times and then threw her under the bus claiming that it was all here fault.  There are an equal number of scurrilous Republicans!!!

If a deal is worked out in NK, don;t you think he would deserve one?

I agree.  Equal opportunity fraudsters.  Of course, since I live(d) in Democrat controlled NY and NJ, Democrats are in a better position to be corrupt.  So I see them stealing more often.  Which always raises in my mind - why would anyone want to turn over their health care and other major decision to these losers in Washington?  Give them less power, not more.  Stop turning your lives over to them.

this is just as good a predictor as housing prices were in 2005.

Prices have gone up primarily as a result of stock buybacks than anything else.  The stocks that I've looked at don't have particularly strong sales growth and PE ratios are not inspiring me to go out and invest these days.  Most of the reliable economic indicators are pointing to slow growth in 2020 with a 40% chance of a recession of some magnitude.  Most of the US corporate earnings are driven by the financial services sector and we have seen how that can bollix things up with alarming quickness.

I actually agree.  We're printing too much.  Spending too much.  Debt is too high.  Bad signs.  Of course, if the Democrats win in 2020, they'll wipe out all  1 1/2 trillion in student loan debts, spend two trillion on infrastructure, give everyone free health care, etc.  They're going to save us.

the infrastructure spending would be a good thing as it would create jobs and fix a bunch of problems related to transportation etc.  I was amazed by the roads in Alberta this past week.  I did not see a single pothole or rough pavement.  the other two things won't happen as advertised.

Spending in infrastructure might help if we had the money.  But we don't.  We'd have toi print it or borrow it adding to our debt.  Plus, every dollar spent by a government takes it out of private capital which is the real seed money for growing the economy.  So while we add to infrastructure, the economy suffers elsewhere.  I also recall there was 800 billion spent on infrastructure after the 2008 crisis on "shovel ready" jobs.  Where did that money go?  Just another boondoggle and waste of resources.

Great way of putting it, I must say.

Hope you did not drive through PA getting to Canada, you may need a new axil.

I remember being told this money would only be spent on infrastructure projects that would add to the economy only.  In Philly, a few million was given to help build a concrete "boardwalk" along the Schuylkill river for foot and bike traffic only.  This thing is not used for any commerce what so ever.  Sure, it's nice, but does absolutely nothing for the economy.  Obama squandered the money and (along with the whole Healthcare.gov debacle) lowered the overall reputation of the government doing anything.

It's said, but Obama pretty much accomplished the opposite of what he was trying to with his blunders.

LOL, I have enough problems just driving on the roads here in Maryland which are abysmal!!  We flew to Montreal to visit friends and then on to Calgary.  It was interesting that Enterprise gave me a Ford Fusion Hybrid to drive for five days.  We didn't even go through a half tank of gas on the trip with all the driving we did.

CNN poll shows major changes for the Democrat nominees.  Four are running great with the rest being insignificant - apparently only their mothers are voting for the rest.  Sort of what happened to the Republicans in 2016 nomination.  Harris moved to second place passing Sanders.  Warren in a close 3rd place to Harris.  Very interesting.  The press wants Harris.  It's been obvious for months.  They may get their wish.  She's a sitting senator, black, a woman, attractive, good speaker, and not as left as most of the others.

"The poll, conducted after the two-night debate, finds 22% of registered voters who are Democrats or Democratic-leaning independents backing Biden for the party's presidential nomination, 17% Harris, 15% Warren and 14% Sen. Bernie Sanders. No one else in the 23-person field tested hits 5%."

No crap! And you know this... how? Did you have a chat with Kim? Fact is, neither you, I, or anybody else knows what's going to happen with North Korea. I'm pretty sure it'll be something none of us expect, and something bad. At least Trump has made it more difficult for Kim to do what he's going to do.

And the rest of those cretins? Trump has helped them how?
