This "Night Sight" mode as Google calls it, is apparently notorious for over-saturating the images. In particular, the red channel, as evidenced by the hanging string of chili peppers in the first image at right.
Street images with mercury vapour sources look silly. In real life, my Honda is not green!
Colour from the incandescent source at right appears reasonably close.
Still, it's relatively easy to subdue Googles' heavy hand with saturation. The fact that I can record images in near darkness without a tripod is pretty liberating. Remember, these images were shot about an hour after sunset.
