« on: December 14, 2018, 04:45:15 pm »

Sorry Russ, don't know where else to post this.

New Orleans, Louisiana 1983 by Omer Claiborne, on Flickr

On Kodachrome, still holding its quality after almost 40yrs.

You captured something transient and significant, Omer.

Thanks Russ. Oddly, until recently I never thought much of this photo. Older and wiser, I guess.

Great capture. Fitting title.

Thanks!

I have to say though, I don't think is the artist is doing that beautiful girl justice.

You'd have to be an awfully good painter to capture the haunting expression on that face, John.

Thats an interesting point. The expression may have been totally fleeting, and may have been there for a nano second. A photo will capture that. The artist  absolutely missed that while mixing color and loading his brush...I know this pain!

It looks like the painter missed a lot of things. The painting doesn't much resemble the woman.
