The IQ is amazing. I’m not (anymore) a gear freak, but here is, apart from the splendid eye, good hardware at work as well. Can you tell a bit more about the optics?

I doubt I could be further removed from being a gear freak, I believe in finding something you love using and using it. That said, limited funds mean I have to take great care in choosing lenses, particularly at Leica prices.

Family was shot with the Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH. Some users report curvature of field but I've never found it to be an issue. Wonderful, bitingly sharp, walk-around lens. I wouldn't be without it.

Many of the environmental portraiture images - for want of a better term - I've posted here have been shot with the Zeiss Sonnar ZM 50mm f/1.5 which has very different qualities. Used wide, f/1.5 or f/2, it is sharp centrally but falls off rapidly giving bags of character. Stopped down it is pretty decent across the frame: a case of two lenses in one. Again, I wouldn't be without it.

Most of my interiors are shot using the Leica Super-Elmar-M 21mm f/3.4 ASPH, it's simply the most astounding wide I've ever used. Once again, I wouldn't be without it.

Of course, once lens choices are made I can put all the boring thoughts about tech to one side and just love using them.

Tx.

I knew there was fine optics involved.

But that doesn’t explain the goodness of the images. That’s your merit.

I don' t think anyone would consider your street image as street photography, but I am curious to which genre you would assign it.

Good Photography genre.
Thank you, Slobodan.
I generally don't care about genre for any of my own photos...

Have a reply in European time.

This is an example of his work Example - always worth a look and I believe a very long standing member much loved by all.

Mike

I assume it was a genuine enquiry and I haven't had a sense of humour failure :)

Bob is an exceptionally fine photographer. His night work is remarkable and original. LuLaers could learn a great deal by studying his photographs.
