I really like those two ladies and moons: one is evocative, the other elegant. I am going to link a lady with serendipity. You will know when you see it.

Ah yes, so our lamps meet again, Slobodan.

I keep coming back to this image. Has a distinct surrealist feel to it, including painterly colors btw. Very nice one, this.

The day before our honeymoon. 46 years later the wedding dress still fits her perfectly and thankfully my photography skills have improved, although in my defence I had been quaffing a considerable amount of champagne bubbly.

She's lovely, and adds an entirely new sense to the appellation that A A Gill had for his: The Blonde.

What on Earth (or elsewhere) did you do to deserve such a mate?

(I read art school writ large.)

Rob, my thanks, and also that of the blonde.

She was of course lovely and still is, so that's a question I've been asking myself for the 50 years we've been together. All I can say is it was love at first sight - out of the art school common room window - and that I got really lucky. She is my one in a million as well as being beautiful , talented and of course, blonde.

It also helps explain why you get on so well in Greece: it's obviously she with whom they all want to be friends; you're just the pesky guy who's always there and keeps dragging her away from conversations because you want to photograph things!

I jest - I hope!

On one thing I jest not: if you are fortunate to have a love of your life from so young, as did I, too, that person becomes totally irreplaceable. I pray you take it on trust and never have to find out the hard way.

:-)

We are both lucky guys and I hope my wife and I will be celebrating 50 years one day too. For now I'm pretty happy with 23!
Here's my honey on some bubbly ice last winter.

Rob

We've just returned from Greece - a land of dark eyed and dark haired beauty - where the blonde is teased by all our Greek male friends who, if truth be told, are a little in love. She, of course, gives as good as she gets and leaves them wanting more. Me, I just sit back and enjoy the show.

Rob, as you know, we've both had a scare or two recently which has only strengthened our bond. We were very fortunate, but my heart goes out to those couples who have been less so. I can't begin to imagine that pain.

Here's my non-blonde, 49 and a half years ago. The wedding dress had been worn by my grandmother and my mother and several other relatives.

She has been my best friend and caregiver for almost fifty years now.

The Saucy Groom. My wife strongly suggests that portraits aren't my forte (especially of her). So here's a candid of a happy couple (of strangers) taken about 14 years ago. I wonder how it all worked out.

Eric, that dress is an inspiration. Just imagine how Deborah Turbeville would have played with it, far away in some abandoned palace in St Petersburg or Poland or wherever... I never got the chance of working with anything as exotically evocative as that. Hot pants and tank tops and tabards and minis and maxis etc. don't begin to compete. Not even thigh boots.
