I am not sure trees are subject of GDPR. At risk:

The above shot, by the way, was made in a kid's playground. I passed it many times before luck had it empty! Some risks are simply not worth the taking. Innocence has to be proved, not taken for granted. C'est la vie.

Selfie in Plato's badlands ;)
Dangerous environment. Few weeks back, one of my countrymen was found death after he lost his path, dehydrated and de-oriented.  ...His son, who was hiking with him lost him on an eye blink and few hours later the man was not anymore.......

This is also from Caledon Badlands, though in truth they are not really Badlands. Just rolling exposed clay mounds buried in snow.

John, this is now a historical photo, Caledon Badlands have been closed a couple of years ago to the public.

Yes, it's been closed for about two years now. They are supposed reopen as of this past August. It has a new parking lot and lookout platform. Last I checked they were deciding if there should be a trail around the perimeter. Walking on mounds is not allowed. Quite a hefty fine if caught. Parking on road is also prohibited. There may be a fee, not sure. I did three slide shows for my club based solely on images from this location. You can imagine how I felt when they closed it down for regeneration.

Staying on designated trails in national parks is generally a good idea, not to mention in accordance with park rules. In Badlands, there is even a boardwalk for many trails. Saves the fragile ecosystem... and lives.

The "badlands" formation runs all the way from up in Canada down to Kansas.  There are plenty of places you can wander about and never see anyone. :)

Ah, then it is more likely Vermillion Cliffs. That’s where foreign tourists often come to die, unfortunately.
