The eye of the storm.

Outstanding, John. Were you trying for something that looked like this, or was there serendipity involved?

Yes, serendipity mostly. This is a fountain scene surrounded by a flowerbed. It was hot and very sunny - not conducive to taking good images. So I decided to experiment. But there is some skill in that I knew ICM would soften the contrast, glaring colours and highlights. I did an elliptical motion so that I could get long curvy lines like a part circle. Did I imagine it would come out this good -yes- naw just kidding. I was quite surprised and pleased at the result.

On a side note, I have found the elliptical ICM movement results is one of the most expressive effects on subjects, providing all the lines are in the right position and the subject is well chosen. Like this one, taken on same day.

Thanks for your comments.

This one is very nice, too. You are a master of this technique.

Summer is fading fast, so I took some flower beds before they turned brown.

I think the camera motion really works perfectly in this one.

"Eye of the Storm" really knocked me over!

I'm not sure I'd dare to go out on your daily walk with you, John!

Thanks Chris, Eric and Francois for the comments. Eric you can do it. Like those storm chasers, just follow the direction of the storm and you will be fine.

A surreal landscape. Taken with my LG cell phone. I'm sure you all can figure out what it really is. Yes, I think it is soft, but that is part of its charm.

Not a reflection. I placed my cell phone on top of this car wreck with rust holes because I saw a landscape against the clouds and sky! Unfortunately, not even the wide angle lens of cell phone could cover the depth of field required to make everything reasonably sharp.

Brilliant sunlight on part of the scene allowed the background to go almost black.

I wasn't serious about the rust hole being a reflection, of course!  ;D

I like the "quarter of a circle" motion in this one.

Futuristic or dysfunctional? Maybe neither. Just playing with shapes and line and tones.
