I like the lighter interpretation… it's probably less aggressive (of course, I haven't seen the other versions ;-) ).
Well done.

The forest not so primeval. But it still looks great.

I agree… It's so clean and with great colors. It's a beauty!

Thanks Eric and Francois.

Ah, but look what I found today on my walk using my small Canon G1X.

You must have an amazing set of color filters for that camera!

I owe it all to preschoolers. Not sure if they participated, but these are ribbons laced through a chain link fence. I spotted them from across the street only today, so I think they may have been put there recently. Naturally I put my own spin on the designs. Thanks for the comments Eric.

You've got a big set of crayons, John.
I hope you didn't steal some of them from your playmates.   ;)

If it's the case then it's well worth it and his mates should be proud of their crayons.

Well done, John.

It appears the tree is caught in an echo chamber. But it is the extreme contrast that I like most.

I like the vivid greens and the dark background. The "movement" is also nice… it's a pleasant shot.

Thanks Eric and Francois. Looking at it again, it seems to convey a fleeting delicacy.

I was walking through this forest and was quite taken, if not overwhelmed by the beauty of the November forest and yellow colours of mostly beech trees. I thought how can I convey some of this is two dimensions. Well, you can only try. I opted for posing the biggest tree, a hemlock I think, in the centre, almost like a sentry keeping watch over the forest. I discovered the image conveys a much more ethereal and majestic look in bw.

An unusual balmy, overcast, December day, reveals the spring-like colours of the landscape located at Grindstone creek.
