Ha ha, yes Hockney. And if you saw the Photo styles forum you would see the interesting sites I posted. I think you will find Hockney's use of photography to express his visual impressions quite interesting. He also made paintings from his photographic collages. He mixes perspectives and yet creates the illusion of one perspective. Quite amazing and intriguing work. Have a look:

I mused, why don't I let the subject create the impressions for me. At least my tripod appreciates it.

Yes on #2. That's good seeing. No on #1. Looks like six beers too many.

Yes on #1. That's creative seeing.
#2 is pretty good, too.  ;)

From a scouting walk at Rockwood. Made the mistake of leaving the tripod behind so most of my images turned out too soft. And I had to use high ISO's. The moral is, don't be lazy like me!

1 and 4 are just right for softness.

Thank you for the comments, Russ and Eric. Always appreciated. This holds even if you don't always like the work. We are all different after all.

Along with the images posted in the 'abstract' thread, here are some more images from my walk at Glen Haffey.

Not a great moon shot but wasn't expecting to see it that day. Lovely just to see the golden moon.

The third is the weakest of these for me. It could have been taken by almost anyone.
The others are just fine.

I am flattered Eric, but you are getting spoiled! Have to mix and match, it's part of the Daily Walk routine I hope.

Nevertheless, here are two more:

The first is a classic JMR.
The second is almost as good.

Thanks Eric. Wanted to create the same look as the first but it was difficult to control the movement of camera with such a long lens- the 50-300 zoom. I broke the shorter zoom, so time to get a new one.

Hit a tree while swinging it around wildly during a 30-second exposure?  :D

From today's walk at Terra Cotta. I like the soft ephemeral look, so except for some hot whites on the trunks, I left it as is.
The second is sandwich of ICM and straight shot.

I've got to get me one of those ICM accessories for my camera.   ;)
