I saw this a week ago, and can say I am more then just displeased.  It should have been an open and shut case for the photographer.  What a screw up on the part of the judge.

It's not surprising that the photography websites have picked up this story, but I don't think there is anything in this rather obscure lawsuit for anyone to be concerned about.  See my earlier comments on this case here.

The US Postal Services has to pay $3.5 million for unauthorized use of a photo they used in their stamps of the Statue of Liberty.  $3.5 million!!!   I wish they'd steal one of mine.

I've paid copyright fees now and then and it was never so much asked that I thought they didn't deserve it. It can be frustrating when you want to pay and can't find anyone to ask.
