Kevin, thanks for your quick response. I hope it is clear that I am commenting because I care about LuLu.
Yes, I have been watching the Leica videos. What I have seen so far in the first three is you talking to three different people about Leica's culture. I haven't learned anything technical about any of their products, or why people think they are so exceptional as to be worth the exceptional prices. Charts? Graphs? Cross sections? I am open to learning that, but so far don't understand.
I would happily watch someone do the black paint on a few lenses, for example, with some discussion about the lenses. Instead it has been about how long they have been doing it, with a brief flash. In other words, still about the culture.
In the case of the new CL camera, I am really curious how you download images without cable connections. My experience with wifi downloading, both Fuji and Canon current products, is that it is too slow for more than a few images. The camera can have the fastest wifi link in the world, but the rest depends on the user's router and service. The other option seems to be to remove the card and go back to sneakernet. I asked this question on a list of Q&As that B&H has, and basically got the sneakernet answer. Meanwhile, Apple is busily removing card readers and providing only cable connections for hardware. So there's an example of something I would like to see in a Leica video, that question and a discussion. Or more about why/how they think simpler lenses are better than, say, the Sigma ART approach of lots of groups inside to correct everything.
That sort of stuff is what I am thinking of, just as examples.
Cheers,
Bruce Bender
