I go to Mull regularly anyway as we have friends who live there and because of the RET (Road Equivalent Tariff for ferries crossings) now in operation, to take a car over to any of the Scottish islands is now only a few pounds and if you are over 60 as we both are, then it is completely free for passengers

Crazy low pricing by the Scottish government IHMO, with a massive hike needed in subsidies just to support this bonanza, but it does mean you can now travel all around the coast of Scotland and to all the islands that are served by ferries, which is almost all of them, for not much more than a few quid.
It's total madness, but what the heck, we're having a ball
