I think, but that's only my opinion, that without the reflection we would have two images in a frame… the upper and the lower parts and nothing would link them together to form that beautiful shot.

I totally agree with you - in my view, the reflection here serves as a link between the islet, standing against the sky, and the boulders, standing against the sea; the reflection in the sea of the islet links visually and metaphorically links them, creating a "common ground" (or common sea, in this case
) between them.
