Playa Ballota, Asturias

Playa Ballota is a great location - the islet is a spectacular background, and there is plenty of foreground interest. Just love it!!

I like it a lot, the reflection on the sand is really welcome. What a beauty!

Thank you very much Francois, I am glad you enjoyed it and found the reflection helped - ir required some thinking to place it where it is in the composition and then waited for the right water / waves combination to show the most of it :)

Vieri,
I think, but that's only my opinion, that without the reflection we would have two images in a frame… the upper and the lower parts and nothing would link them together to form that beautiful shot.

Hello Francois,

I totally agree with you - in my view, the reflection here serves as a link between the islet, standing against the sky, and the boulders, standing against the sea; the reflection in the sea of the islet links visually and metaphorically links them, creating a "common ground" (or common sea, in this case ;) ) between them.

Thanks again! Best regards,

Vieri
