What an extraordinary image!
When I first glanced at it, it almost seemed to me that this image had been shot back in the days of slide film with a high ISO resulting in monster grain.
The B&W treatment also lends to this impression.
However, this is all illusory since the "grain" is just all the sites where snow has accumulated on the trees, the rock slopes, and the scree at the bottom of the rocky outcrops.
I am not sure, but there may still be snow falling that also gives it a bit of a grainy look.
A most arresting image that will need several viewings to properly appreciate it!
